How do I choose the right size and heat output for my bathroom towel radiator?

First match the radiator height and width to the wall space you have, the Pisa range comes in widths from 400 to 600mm and heights from 800mm up to 1800mm, while compact options such as the Mayfair 795 x 500mm suit smaller cloakrooms. Then match heat output to the room: small en-suite or cloakroom often needs around 300–400W, a medium bathroom 600W, and a larger bathroom 1000W or a bigger dual fuel radiator. If you have central heating, a dual fuel model gives you the higher connected output; if you rely on an electric element, use the included in our range wattage to check it will heat the room. As a practical example, a small en-suite could use an 800 x 500mm Pisa with a 300W element, while a family bathroom would benefit from a 1600mm-wide rail or an 1800 x 500mm Iridio for greater warmth.

What's the difference between dual fuel, electric and central-heating towel radiators and which should I get?

Central-heating radiators connect to your boiler and heat with the rest of the system; they are efficient when your heating is on. Electric radiators use a heating element so they're ideal for retrofits, outbuildings or when you want heat without the boiler. Dual fuel combines both: the radiator works from the central system but also has an electric element, so you can heat towels independently when the boiler is off; ranges like the Fairmile and Iridio offer these. Choose electric if you have no plumbing to the wall, dual fuel if you want flexibility, and central-heating if you simply want to integrate with your existing system.

Which finish and style will suit my bathroom design?

For a classic bathroom look pick chrome finishes such as the Fairmile or Portchester ranges, which pair well with traditional fittings. For a modern or industrial scheme the Pisa 25mm in black or anthracite Oxfordshire and Sandhurst models give a bold, contemporary feel. If you want something subtle, white designer radiators blend into the wall, while brushed aluminium (the Eton 1400 x 300mm) gives a softer metallic look without the high shine of chrome. Also think about tube shape: slim 25mm round tubes read contemporary, whereas oval tube radiators like the Iridio create a softer sculptural statement.

Can I fit a smart electric heating element to my towel radiator and what controls will I get?

Yes, many radiators in our range are compatible with screw‑in smart elements such as the Wi‑Fi Smart 1000W or the timed thermostatic 600W unit, and dedicated models like the 43D (400W) and thermostatic 300W are included in our range. Smart elements give you temperature control, timers and scheduling via an app so you can warm towels before you shower, while thermostatic units maintain a set temperature without wiring into a room thermostat. If you want remote scheduling and smartphone control, the Wi‑Fi smart element is the option to look for; for simple boost and hold functions, a timed thermostatic element will do the job.

How many towels will fit on different radiator sizes and configurations?

A wider radiator naturally holds more: a 1600 x 400mm Pisa will take several towels hung across the bars, whereas an 800 x 500mm model will comfortably take one or two. Vertical designer radiators such as the 1800 x 500mm Iridio with multiple oval tubes give more hanging points for drying several towels without overlapping. For a family bathroom aim for a wider horizontal model or an 1800mm-high vertical rail so each person can have a towel hanging separately; for a guest cloakroom a compact 795 x 500mm or 800 x 600mm rail is usually sufficient.
