How do I choose the right width and shape for my bath screen?

First, match the screen width to the area of your bath that needs splash protection, with many options on our site range from about 700–799mm and 800–899mm up to 1000–1099mm and 1200–1299mm. Square-edge and curved screens suit straight baths, while L-shape or fixed-with-return panels (such as the 785mm or 795mm return options) work better for shower baths or baths with built-in shower trays. If you have a shorter rim or want more access, an 800mm curved or 800mm square hinged screen is a typical choice; for wider showering zones consider a 1000mm two-panel hinged or a folding screen for larger openings.

What difference does glass thickness make, 4mm or 6mm?

Six millimetre glass feels stiffer and gives a more premium, rigid screen ideal for fixed or hinged panels. Four millimetre glass, as used on some Hydrolux folding models, is lighter and more flexible, which helps when panels need to fold away neatly. Both thicknesses are thermally strengthened safety glass, so you get safe, durable performance; pick 6mm for a solid, substantial screen and 4mm where compact folding or multiple panels are required.

Which screen operation should I pick, fixed, hinged or folding?

If you want a minimalist look and a permanently positioned barrier, a fixed framed screen (often in 800mm widths) is simple and reliable. Hinged screens, including two-panel curved or square hinged options at 1000mm, give you greater access into the bath but need swing room. Folding screens, like Hydrolux's 1000mm four-panel or 1200mm five-panel models, collapse neatly against the wall and are the best choice for tight bathrooms where space for a hinged swing is limited.

How will the black finish and different glass styles affect the look and privacy?

A matt black frame or Crittall-style grid immediately gives a strong contemporary, architectural look and contrasts well with pale tiles. Grid and abstract grid patterns add a decorative, industrial feel while fluted glass introduces texture and extra privacy by obscuring silhouettes. Clear glass feels more open and bright but shows water marks more readily; fluted or patterned glass is useful if you want to hide splashes while keeping the black frame statement.
