How do I choose between close coupled, low level and high level toilets for a traditional bathroom?

Close coupled toilets have the cistern sitting directly on the pan and are the most compact option in this range (you'll see eight close coupled suites included in our range), so they suit smaller bathrooms or where you want a neat, familiar look. Low level toilets have the cistern lower on the wall and give a more period-accurate silhouette without the height of a high-level set. High level toilets deliver the most traditional, vintage appearance with a high-mounted cistern and pull chain, ideal if you're recreating a Victorian or Edwardian scheme. If space is tight, pick a close coupled with a wall-hung or pedestal basin; for heritage charm, choose low- or high-level with a rounded basin.

Which basin style will work best in my layout: full pedestal, vanity unit or wall-hung?

Full pedestal basins (five available) give a classic, elegant look and conceal the trap for a tidy finish, so they suit traditional bathrooms or cloakrooms where you want authenticity. Vanity units combine a basin with built-in storage and are shown in 600–620mm widths on several suites, so they're the practical choice if you need drawers for toiletries. Wall-hung basins free up floor space and make cleaning easier, ideal for compact rooms or modernised traditional schemes. if you have a small family bathroom, a 600mm vanity gives storage and a neat traditional face.

What basin widths should I look at to make sure the suite fits my bathroom?

The range shows basin widths from roughly 450mm up to 649mm in the filter, so measure your floor and wall space before you buy. Narrow basins in the 450–499mm bracket suit tiny cloakrooms, while 550–599mm and 600–649mm options give a more substantial presence and pair well with vanity units. Several ready-made suites come as 600mm or 620mm units, which is a common size if you want a balanced look between storage and space. If you have a 1.5m run, a 600mm basin leaves comfortable space either side for other fittings.

Are traditional suites available in colours and what seat or finish options are there?

Yes, you'll find the traditional ceramic sanitaryware paired with coloured vanity options, the Winchester vanity suites are available in blue, green and grey at 620mm. Many suites also include practical touches such as luxurious soft-close seats to prevent late-night bangs. The overall look mixes classic shapes with contemporary finishes, so you can keep a heritage feel while adding a subtle modern touch. If you want a bolder statement, choose a coloured vanity against white sanitaryware; for a quieter scheme, pick grey or muted tones.

Which brands and collections are in the range and how do they differ in price and style?

The range features Park Lane and Ideal Standard, with collections named Park Lane, Waverley and Winchester shown in the filters. Park Lane offers the broadest selection and several value-priced suites around the the current product price bands, making it good for variety and budget-conscious traditional looks. Ideal Standard's Waverley appears at higher price points and tends to represent a more premium finish and styling, often chosen when you want a more authentic period feel. If you want bright, coloured vanity choices go for the Winchester items; for classic white and roomy options, Park Lane gives the most straightforward choices.
