Q. Where do I position my toilet roller holder?

A. If you’re wall mounting your toilet roll holder then they’re most effective and easiest to use at approximately 66cm above the floor. This would be the centre of the holder and not the top or bottom of it. 66cm is ideal for standard height and comfort height toilets. It is also recommended that the centre of the holder is positioned 25 – 30cm away from the very front part of the toilet pan. This can be adjusted if members of the household are taller or shorter.

In rented properties it is sometimes not possible to drill holes for wall mounting so consider stick on toilet roll holderd or a floor standing toilet roll holder.

 

Q. How do I fit a standard toilet roll holder?

A. Installation will vary depending on the type of toilet roll holder that you’ve purchased and some will only have one connection for the wall whereas others may have two. Because of this below is only a rough guide.

1. Work out where your toilet roll holder needs to be fitted using the dimensions above.

2. Use the template (usually supplied with the holder) to mark out with a pencil where your new holder will fit.

3. If you’re not using wall anchors then drill holes which are slightly smaller than your screws. Make sure they don’t go in as deeply as your screws will. If you are using wall anchors then drill larger holes and inset the anchors for extra stability.

4. Screw the toilet roll holder arm or brackets onto the wall.
