Choose the 29 cm (290 mm) drawer if you want to hold larger dishes, several plates or a casserole, because its greater depth gives a roughly 54 litre capacity. All models are about 594-595 mm wide, so they suit a standard 600 mm housing unit, but check whether your cabinet depth is nearer 518 mm or 540 mm before buying.

Temperatures typically sit between 30-80°C or 40-80°C depending on the model, so you can both proof dough at lower settings around 30-35°C and keep cooked food or plates warm at 60-80°C. For example, use 30-35°C to prove a sourdough starter in the 14 cm drawer, and 65°C in the 29 cm drawer to keep a roast and veg hot while you finish plating. One model lists a different range, so check the exact spec if you need very low or very high settings.

Bosch warming drawers feature touch-operated push and pull handles for simple, tactile use, and selected models include Home Connect compatibility so you can monitor and control temperatures via the app. That means you could turn the drawer on from your phone before guests arrive to warm plates, or check the set temperature without entering the kitchen. Touch control gives a clean look and straightforward operation at the appliance itself.

There are three black models and one stainless steel option, so pick stainless steel if you have traditional steel ovens and want a classic, fingerprint-resistant look. If your kitchen appliances are black glass or contemporary dark finishes, a black warming drawer will blend in seamlessly; Bosch even offers a mixed black and stainless option in the Series 6 if you want a subtle contrast. Think about other visible handles and trims so the drawer ties into the overall aesthetic.

The larger 290 mm drawer with approximately 54 litres is designed to hold heavier and bulkier cookware such as roasting dishes and multiple serving pans, while the 140 mm units are better suited to plates, trays and lighter dishes. For example, use the deeper Series 8 drawer to keep a 30 cm casserole warm, and the 14 cm Series 6 to warm crockery for a dinner party. Always check the manufacturer's maximum load in the detailed spec if you plan to store very heavy pots.
