hansgrohe PowderRain

Thin Line Break

PowderRain Explained

Indulge water in a revolutionary way thanks to PowderRain. Inspired by the rainforest and its warm, misty droplets of fine water, it’s the most relaxing way to shower. Thousands of micro-droplets rain down on your body, creating a spa-like experience you can enjoy every day.

Benefits of PowderRain:

  • It’s quieter than a normal shower
  • Albeit quiet, it’s powerful and indulgent. Allowing extremely effective removal of shampoo
  • Micro-droplets feel great and create less splash radius compared with an ordinary shower head

What is PowderRain and how does it feel different from a standard shower spray?

PowderRain produces thousands of micro‑droplets that fall like a warm, misty rainforest shower, giving a soft, spa‑like sensation that is quieter than a conventional spray. It still rinses effectively, so shampoo and conditioner are removed well despite the gentler feel. You’ll also get less splash round the shower because the micro‑droplets have a smaller splash radius. For a daily, calming rinse try the Raindance or Pulsify PowderRain heads in 120–260mm sizes.

Should I buy an overhead shower head or a riser rail kit for my bathroom?

If you want full head‑to‑toe coverage and a statement feature, an overhead head such as the 260mm Pulsify or the larger ShowerTablet 400 is ideal. Choose a riser rail kit with a handheld 105–120mm head and a 65cm or 90cm rail if you need flexibility for rinsing children, pets or cleaning; many riser kits include hoses of 1.25m or 1.6m for reach. Riser kits also let you switch between handheld and overhead functions and are typically more space‑efficient in smaller bathrooms.

What do the different jet modes like PowderRain, Activation and Relaxation actually do for my showering routine?

PowderRain gives a fine, misty coverage for a relaxing, quiet experience, Activation delivers a stronger, targeted spray ideal for rinsing shampoo, and Relaxation offers a softer, mellow spray for winding down. Several Pulsify and Raindance models come as 3‑jet handsets so you can switch between modes; the Pulsify S 105 3‑jet handset includes all three options. Use Activation when you need power to rinse quickly, and PowderRain or Relaxation when you want a gentler, spa‑style moment.

Which finish and shape will suit a contemporary bathroom best—chrome, black or square heads?

Matt black and gloss black finishes give a bold, contemporary look that pairs well with matte tiles and minimalist fittings, as seen in the Pulsify E and some Rainfinity items. Chrome remains a timeless choice that reflects light and suits classic or transitional schemes; many models such as the Pulsify S and Raindance are available in chrome. If you favour clean lines, square Rainfinity 100mm heads offer a modern geometric statement; choose a 100–130mm square head for subtlety or a 240–260mm round for a more dramatic centrepiece.

Do I need a thermostatic dual‑head shower like the ShowerTablet 400, or will a single‑jet overhead do the job?

A thermostatic dual‑head unit, such as the ShowerTablet 400 or Raindance dual head mixers, gives precise temperature control and the convenience of separate overhead and hand showers, which is useful for families or if you want simultaneous sprays. A single‑jet overhead, like the 260mm Pulsify S, is simpler and more affordable while still delivering a great PowderRain experience if you mainly want a luxurious overhead shower. If temperature stability and multi‑user flexibility matter to you, opt for the thermostatic dual‑head; if budget and a single indulgent spray are your priorities, a single overhead is perfectly capable.
