Are Forum bathroom lights safe to install in a bathroom, and what IP rating do I need?

Bathroom lights must be rated for the moisture "zone" they're fitted in. Lights directly over a bath or in a shower (Zones 1) typically need at least IP65, while fittings outside the splash area (Zone 2 and beyond) usually need IP44 as a minimum. Forum's bathroom range is designed with appropriate IP ratings for these zones, but you should always check the IP rating listed on the individual product and match it to where you plan to fit it.

What finishes do Forum lights come in, and can I match them across a whole bathroom?

The range is built around coordination, covering ceiling fixtures, wall lights, and mirror illumination in a selection of finishes (commonly chrome, satin/brushed nickel, and similar contemporary tones) so you can achieve a consistent look across multiple fittings. Available finishes vary by individual model, so it's worth confirming the same finish is offered across each fitting type you want before ordering.

Do these lights use LED, or do I need to buy bulbs separately?

Some Forum fittings come with integrated LEDs, while others take replaceable lamps (such as GU10 or G9). Whether bulbs are included differs by product, so check the specification on each item — integrated-LED fittings won't need separate bulbs, whereas lamp-holder styles may require you to buy compatible bulbs.

Will I need an electrician to fit them?

In the UK, bathroom electrical work falls under Part P of the Building Regulations, so installation of mains bathroom lighting should be carried out by a qualified electrician. This protects both safety and compliance, particularly given the proximity to water.

6. What colour temperature and brightness do Forum bathroom lights give, and are any dimmable?

Bathroom lighting is usually offered in warm white (around 2700–3000K) for a softer, cosier feel or cool white (around 4000K+) for a brighter, crisper light that's better for tasks like shaving or applying make-up. Brightness is measured in lumens rather than watts, so check the lumen output on each fitting to gauge how bright it will be. Dimmability varies by model many integrated-LED fittings are not dimmable unless specifically stated, and where they are, they'll need a compatible LED dimmer switch, so confirm this on the individual product before buying.
