An L‑shape bath has a squarer showering platform and a more modern aesthetic, making it a good fit for contemporary designs and for containing spray in a compact footprint. If your bathroom is longer than it is wide and you want a generous showering space without a separate cubicle, the P‑shape is ideal; if you prefer crisp lines and slightly more usable flat bath space, pick the L‑shape.

The sizes included in our range reflect how much room the bath will take and how comfortable it will be for soaking or showering: 1500mm suits smaller bathrooms or where space is tight, 1600mm gives a middle ground, and 1700mm offers the most space for showering and a comfortable soak. Many Essentials suites use a 1700mm bath, several shower bath and single ended bath suites are 1700mm, so if you want a roomy shower over the bath, 1700mm is a common, readily available choice. If you have a compact layout, consider the 1500mm suite to free up floor space for storage or circulation.

Most of the Essentials basins are full pedestal style, the filters show 10 full pedestal options, which give a neat, traditional look and hide the pipework but do not provide storage. There is at least one suite that includes a vanity unit, the Essentials Complete Bathroom Suite with Single Ended Bath & Vanity Unit, 1700mm, which gives you drawer or cupboard space under the basin for toiletries. If you need sensible storage under the basin for everyday items, opt for the vanity unit suite; if you prefer a more open, classic look and can store elsewhere, a full pedestal will work fine.

Left hand (LH) or right hand (RH) indicates which side the shower/bath screen and the deeper showering area are positioned when you face the bath, so you must match it to your bathroom layout and plumbing. the Essentials 1700mm shower baths are offered in LH and RH options; if your shower controls and screen need to be on the right when standing at the end of the bath, choose the right hand model. A quick way to confirm is to stand where the bath will sit and imagine the screen hinged side and taps; the orientation should make access and plumbing runs straightforward.
