Greenwood Airvac Timer controlled Shower Round Extractor Fan with Light 120mm - HC115TBK
£87.32 (Inc. VAT)
Extractor fans with a built-in timer control means that the fan will operate with the bathroom light switch and then overrun for a set amount of time to continue removing moisture from the air. This is great for steamy bathrooms, allowing you to turn the light off but continue with extraction for a short time.
Inline fans are installed within your attic as part of your ducting system. An advantage of inline fans is that one fan can be connected to more than one inlet ducts which are in different areas, and the inline fan can ventilate both locations, so you don’t have to install more than one fan unit.
This product has a rating of IPX44, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (wires, nails, screws) and is protected against water splashes from all directions.
Zone 1 Rated
IP rating stands for 'Ingress Protection rating' and this helps us determine what bathroom electricals can go in particular bathroom zones. An IP (Ingress Protection) number or code is used here in the UK to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests.
These extractor fans can be fitted within Zone 1 as shown below.

I've just had this fan fitted, so admittedly cannot comment on the longevity, but it is possibly the best thing I have purchased in a very long time! My ensuite had a dreadful "shop own brand" fan on the wall opposite the shower. Consequently the room ended up so mouldy that I had to close it off from use until I found a solution. I've had this fan installed directly above the shower. It was apparently quite tricky to install, but this was down to the terrible wiring in my house. It was installed in approximately 2 hours by an electrician. It removes every scrap of steam, straight out the shower, so much so that the vanity mirror next to the shower cubicle doesn't even have a trace of condensation. The light is an added bonus as meant it could be put in place of the existing spot light. I am one happy customer! Goodbye mouldy ensuite!
Replacing on a like for like basis, with the same product the last one lasted 11 years in a busy family bathroom, with 6 plus showers on a daily basis. The condensation control is excellent, because it is directly over the source ( shower cubicle) and provides great illumination for washing. The white ceiling grille has discoloured slightly, with age, but is entitled too after 11 years
AS with previous purchases from Plumbworld the order process and delivery were fantastic. The product itself is excellent. I wasn't sure whether to spend as much on the extractor as high street diy chains have similar for half the cost but I'm VERY pleased I did. Everyone who has seen it is impressed and the shower looks fantastic in the halogen light...
Although I have not had this item installed yet and I cannot give a full review of my own, what I can say is that this extractor from Plumbworld was the best price that could be found after hours of searching. The item itself is extremely well packaged and looks and feels amazing quality. Cant wait for the install.
We needed an extractor fan for our new downstairs toilet and decided to go with this fan with light. My husband says its brilliant, easy to fit, looks great and at a great price too. On the list to buy another one when we update our bathroom later this year.
I have fitted this extractor in my ensuite shower cubicle where I have a mould problem. Already I can see the positive affect extracting the steam from the shower cubicle is having. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a steam problem.
This product is great value and everything is included in the box, ready to install. You do not need to connect the light if it is something you would prefer to do without, as it is wired directly.
Bought this fan to install within an enclosed shower cubicle. The fan is easy to install and provides excellent extraction and with the timer add on it quickly clears all condensation droplets.
Great service - received prompty - good followup from Plumbworld with a personal touch
Great product and keen pricing. Good supplier and excellent customer service.
very pleased with service and product could not be better
I have had a Greenwood extractor fan in one of my showers for over 15 years now and it is still going strong. The new one seems the same in all respects other than the shower light and vent closing flaps which is an attractive addition. Easy to fit and adequate for the job. Better clips for the vent hose as an alternative to tie wraps would be an improvement, especially for the fixing nearest the fan connection which you may want to access a couple of times to adjust the timer. The fan fixing bracked seemed a little iffy (it just clips on) and I used a couple of tie wraps to make sure the fan didnt com adrift from the bracket. However, once set up everything is ok. With the outlet fitted in the sofit, the back draught flaps on these units (old and new) can be a bit noisy on a windy day. Robust solonoid operated ones would be handy if anyone knows if they are available. However, if this one lasts more than 15 years without any trouble - maintenance I will be more than happy.
