Twin Impeller Shower Pumps for Hot and Cold supplies are ideal for any homes that might be suffering from low hot and cold water pressure. You might notice this in your morning showers as a bit of a dribble rather than a powerful spray. We split our twin impeller shower booster pumps into two categories, one for positive head and one for negative head. This may sound confusing but it’s quite straightforward; positive head pumps work where the cold water storage tank outlet is higher than the outlet in your bathroom, this is generally the norm as most storage tanks are fitted in the loft. Negative head shower pumps are for when the cold water storage tank outlet is lower than the outlet you’re pumping to.

How do I know whether you need a positive head, negative head or universal twin impeller pump?

Check the relative height of your cold water storage tank outlet compared with the shower or tap you want to boost. If the tank outlet is higher (as with most loft tanks) you'll need a positive head pump; if it's lower you'll need a negative head unit. A universal head pump will work in either situation and is a safe choice if you're not certain, our range shows 23 positive head, 17 universal and only one negative head option, so negative-head choices are limited.
