This could potentially cause you a problem if you have lower water pressure. A solution to this problem could be a Salamander shower pump. They are designed to boost pressure in both the hot and cold water supplies to thermostatic or manual mixer valves. They are also suitable for use with a large range of shower types and accessories such as heads.
Twin pumps are designed using the highest standard of technology to boost your water pressure of both hot and cold water supply to a single shower, bath, shower mixer or mixer tap. Positive Head
A positive head shower pump is designed to be gravity fed, therefore, it needs a 'head' of distance (at least a metre) between the pump and the bottom of the cold water cistern. The gravity feed 'kick-starts' the pump, pushing water straight through to your shower.
Please note: for accurate installation, please consult a plumber/installer to make sure you get the correct shower pump for your needs.
Positive Head
Positive head shower pumps are for gravity-fed systems only. As a rule, if your cold-water tank is above the shower (maybe you have a shower in a converted room downstairs) and you have a flow rate as little as 0.5 bar, then you will need a positive head shower pump.
Powerful noise reducing technology
It’s no surprise that shower pumps can be on the noisy side considering the job that they do. That being said, they don’t have to be, providing they’re designed with noise reduction in mind. Salamander pumps are exactly that, featuring noise and vibration reducing feet which work in perfect sync with the natural vibration of the motor. Also, the materials used within the pump are capable of dampening the vibration of rotating parts, reducing noise further.
Solid state switching
Solid State Switching is the activation system used within Salamander shower pumps. Where other pumps rely upon moving parts within them to activate, the new solid state switching from Salamander uses an electronically operated switch with no moving parts, thus improving the reliability, the sensitivity, and the overall product life.
Compact size
Salamander are champions when it comes to producing small yet powerful shower pumps. This is not only great for an installer but you too, allowing you to fit and operate it in smaller than normal areas. Size really does matter when it comes to shower pumps and flexible installations.
Crossover
This pump features an innovatively designed bypass tube which diverts the water from the end of the pump that isn’t pumping water. This can happen when one tap is switched off when a bath or basin is being filled, so the crossover is there to stop the expansion from overheating on the side of the pump which doesn’t contain any water.
Silent Showering
Quiet Mark approved means when the water is running you won't hear the pump operating - making it perfect for early morning and late night shower users!
Continuously Rated Motor
Continuously rated shower pumps effectively run until the user turns it off. This is particularly good in a family home where the shower needs to be used frequently throughout the morning or evening. A pump that isn’t continuously rated will turn itself off to allow the pump to cool, potentially causing issues with water pressure to the shower.

Flexible hoses included
This shower pump comes complete with 4 x 15mm to 22mm Straight Pushfit Couplers (with Isolating Valve), which are used to link your shower pump to both incoming and outgoing water pipes. These hoses lmit the transfer of vibration from the motor and pump to the associated pipe work, helping to reduce noise and prevent damage to the pump itself.
WRAS Approved for quality
If you’re buying any sort of water fitting or product then it’s important that its WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approved. It’s the best way to work out if that particular product or part complies with the UK requirements for installation within the UK.
Additional information:
Suitable for boosting the hot and cold water pressure to the outlets within a bathroom, including showers, baths, basins and toilets, CT80B has been specifically designed to meet the demand for water within bathrooms, ensuites and utility rooms.
The CT80B is only suitable for a positive head, gravity fed system. Installing a in a negative head system will mean the pump may not work.

I bought this as the old shower pump had packed up.
I had a salamander pump at our old house and was well impressed with the pressure and the sound.
This one is a larger model to cope with 2 showers.
The pressure is really good but noisier than my old houses one.
But they are in different positions. The old one was in the loft and the new one is in the airing cupboard on the landing. Due to tank positions.
