How It Compares To The Competition

Mira Electric Showers Comparison - Aqualisa Quartz
Aqualisa Quartz Push Button Start Stop

Simple Start/Stop Push Button

Getting the Quartz started shouldn’t be rocket science and with an easy to use push button for switching it on and off this really is a refreshingly simple shower to get to grips with.

After all nobody wants a stressful morning before they’ve even got in the shower!

Electric Showers - Requires Cold Water Feed

Cold water supply only

Electric showers are by far the most convenient to install. They connect to a cold water supply only and not to your boiler, warming the water using an element inside the shower. So if you're worried about your brother, sister, partner or anybody else using all the hot water in the house then this electric shower is certainly for you. Because no matter how much you us it, it won't run out or let you down when it comes to heat.

I believe Aqualisa have made a product built to fail here. Reading all the negative reviews of continuous multiple failures of the product points to poor quality control. I believe what Aqualisa are doing is mass production at a cheap cost with inferior internals. If the product fails as part of warranty then they provide "prompt" service and replace the internals without much fuss (some naive customers have rated their customer service excellent when this happened to them). Still profitable to them as its made cheap! Then alas! the day comes when you are just out of warranty and it fails again. Now most poor customers who are desperate for a working shower will simply buy a replacement Aqualisa Quartz / Internal unit again in order to avoid plumbing costs and replace themselves. This way Aqualisa continuously sell their products to the same customer again and again. If you are reading this and pondering on this product then let me ask you to consider this. If the unit fails once and then the replacement unit works fine for an agreeable period then we cannot blame the manufacturer as faults do happen on the odd occasion. However if continuously the units keep on failing then there is definitely a problem as we can see from all the negative reviews that this is the trend with this unit. If reviews aren't sufficient for you then see the comments put on YouTube for these showers.

I would advise everybody to avoid this shower at all costs as the model has a known manufacturing fault. I moved into my new build home in March 2013 and this shower was brand new. Between March 2013 and May 2019 I replaced the entire engine (interior electricals/pump) no less than four times. The shower seems to last just over one year before completely dying, and this is not a cheap thing to replace. I'm handy with DIY so I just did it myself. The cheapest I could find the replacement part was £100. The final time it blew, in May of this year, I took the plunge and paid for a cheaper, but very highly rated model from another manufacturer, and so far it's been good. I've spoken to two of my neighbours and they have both had the same model shower break on them several times and both have had them replaced now. Avoid at all costs.

How did Which gives this shower such a high review, we are now on our third shower in three years. The first one was replaced within the guarantee period, but the repair or replacement of the engine (there words not mine.) was not guaranteed. Now on number 3 shower which the engineer arrived with, wrong colour to what we ordered, but he had the right colour in his van, well the front section, but we still have the wrong colour shower head and fittings, The engineer has said this will be sent on to us, the correct colour that is and that I could fit it, but i have paid for it to be fitted and for the right colour. I await to see what turns up. The development we live in is a new build site neighbours either side have had this shower replaced, the girl i spoke to said we must be unlucky. Sorry could not recommend this product.

Purchased a white one of these only four years ago and now can't tell if it's on or off. Pretty useless really as it keeps going after you think you've switched it off - as a safety feature - but then you think have I turned it off? £50 plus for a new front cover seems extremely excessive and way beyond what it must cost them to produce a bit of plastic and a cheap circuit board - a quarter of the price of the shower! Also, it doesn't manage to heat the water enough in the winter which can be frustrating. Will be getting another brand for the three en-suites I'm now doing and not using Aqualisa again - or recommending them to anyone - they weren't interested in my predicament at all.

I bought this Aqualisa Quartz Electric Shower White & Chrome 9.5kW based on a Which! recommendation.. Unit failed after 15 months Aqualisa kindly offered to repair it under warranty but NOT once the unit had been removed (as we had to do urgently for holiday guests).. If you do a Google check you will see that this is a common problem. As I said to the lady at Aqualisa: it takes a long time to build up a good brand name but a very short time to loose it again. I will not be buying or recommending this, so called, quality brand again.. a light bulb would probably last longer!

unfortunately aqualisa quatz became my first big mistake, in terms of shopping. during the 15 min shower didn't have a minute with the same temperature(impossible to regulate temperature), complaints from all family members. now thinking of buying water pressure booster I've should've gone for mira sport shower

First of these showers I purchased lasted approx one year before it stopped working. Supplier replaced it with no hassle and now the second one has just stopped working with the same fault 15 months later. I would expect a shower to last longer than 15 months, it’s not a cheap one just a rubbish one.

The on / off button has failed twice since I've purchased it and the shower-head bracket has also now broken. (Plastic) style over substance

Lasted only 1 year before it started to breakdown. It's either scalding hot or freezing cold. Expensive rubbish, don't buy.

Easy to Fit and Function shower but heating engine has failed after less than one year.....daily use....approx. 500 showers in total so not heavy usage. Previous unit lasted a bit longer under similar use.
