How do I choose between underfloor heating mats and heating cables?

Mats are pre-spaced, flat and come in set sizes, so they are quick to lay in regular-shaped rooms. Cables are supplied loose and are better for odd shapes or where you need to cover a bespoke area, the range shows DCM‑Pro cables sold for defined coverage areas. If you have a simple bathroom or kitchen footprint, a sticky mat at 150W/m² or 200W/m² is often the easiest choice; if you need to snake heat around cabinets or fixtures, a cable kit will give a neater fit.

What wattage should I pick for a small bathroom?

For a typical, well-insulated small bathroom, 150W/m² is usually sufficient and is offered in mats and cable kits (a 2.5m² 150W/m² mat gives around 375W total). If your bathroom has poor insulation, lots of glazing or you want a faster temperature response, choose 200W/m² mats such as the Warmup StickyMat options. A 2m² 200W/m² mat gives about 400W, which will warm the floor quicker than the 150W/m² option.

Can I use underfloor heating in a conservatory or kitchen?

Yes, the range explicitly lists bathrooms, kitchens and conservatories as suitable rooms, and you can fit it in almost any room. Conservatories often need higher output because of heat loss, so 200W/m² mats or larger coverage (10m² Warmup StickyMat at 200W/m²) are sensible. For an open-plan kitchen, choose larger mats or cable coverage to match the floor area so heat is evenly distributed.

How do I know what size mat or cable to buy for my room?

Measure the floor area you want to heat and match it to the available coverage sizes shown. Leave out areas under permanent fixtures where heating isn't needed. If the room shape is regular, pick the nearest standard mat size; if it's irregular, use a cable kit sized for the total coverage you require.

Do brands and guarantees differ across the range?

Yes, the selection includes brands such as Warmup and ProWarm, and guarantee lengths vary: many items state a lifetime guarantee while a couple carry a 50-year guarantee. Warmup features prominently across the range and tends to offer high-warranty mat systems, giving added reassurance for long-term use. Always check the guarantee on the specific product you're looking at so you know the exact cover.
