Improve Water Pressure to a Single Outlet
The Salamander CT55XTRA is designed to boost the pressure of one hot, cold, or pre-mixed water supply. Its 1.5 bar output can improve the performance of an individual shower, tap, toilet, or wash basin connected to a suitable gravity-fed system.
Unlike twin impeller shower pumps, which boost separate hot and cold supplies, this single impeller model serves one supply. It can boost hot or cold water directly or pre-mixed water from a shower mixer.
Designed for Positive Head Systems
This model belongs to Salamander’s range of positive head shower pumps. It requires sufficient natural gravity-fed flow to activate, making it suitable when the cold-water storage tank is positioned above the outlet.
The CT55XTRA is not suitable for negative head installations. A competent installer should assess your water system and confirm that this is the correct pump before installation.
Quieter, More Reliable Operation
Noise- and vibration-reducing feet work with vibration-dampening internal materials to help keep operating sound to a minimum. The pump is also Quiet Mark approved, making it a practical choice where reduced noise is important.
Solid-state switching activates the pump electronically without relying on moving switching components. This helps improve sensitivity and reliability while supporting a longer service life.
Compact, Continuously Rated Design
The compact housing makes the pump easier to accommodate in confined installation areas. Its continuously rated motor can operate for extended periods without requiring scheduled pauses to cool, making it suitable for frequently used outlets.
Flexible Connections Included
Two 15mm straight push-fit flexible couplers are supplied with the pump. These connect it to the incoming and outgoing pipework while helping to reduce the transfer of vibration. Integrated isolation valves make future maintenance more convenient.

This little pump is absollutely amazing - so powerful for its size! It comes with a comprehensive colour leaflet detailing the various set-ups in which it can be used. Its very solid and well built, and, at about 12 long, took up very little space and screw-fitted easily to the floor of my hot water tank cupboard, to do its job. My plumber had no problem fitting it at all, especially with the flexi pipes included, and was impressed with the pump. Some additional plumbing and electrical work was required, copper piping, wiring for the mains, and so on. You must use qualified tradesmen.
Drawing a bath used to be a painfully slow process, with my hot water tank being at the same level as the bath, but not any longer! It was a pleasure to run the bath for my son this week, and he got to splash around for 10 minutes longer as a result!. Because the pump has a plug, I can switch it off and use water pressure-only to fill the bathroom or kitchen sinks if I want, thus saving electricity as well. I am so glad I bought this!
