Stronger Water Flow
The Stuart Turner Showermate 47340 is designed to improve an underperforming hot, cold, or pre-mixed water supply. Its single impeller produces a 2.0 bar pressure boost, making it suitable for supplying an individual tap or increasing the flow from a shower mixer.
Unlike twin impeller shower pumps, which boost separate hot and cold supplies, single impeller shower pumps work with one water supply. This makes the pump a practical choice when only one outlet or pre-mixed feed requires additional pressure.
Positive-Head Gravity-Fed Systems
This model belongs to the range of positive head shower pumps (single impeller) and requires sufficient natural gravity flow to activate. It should be installed as part of a suitable gravity-fed system with adequate vertical distance between the cold-water storage cistern and the outlet.
Positive-head suitability depends on the layout and natural flow rate of the system. A qualified installer should confirm compatibility before installation, particularly where the showerhead is close to or above the base of the cold-water cistern.
Quiet, Dependable Operation
The pump automatically activates when it detects a flow above approximately 0.8 litres per minute. Its continuously rated motor supports frequent use, while dry-run protection helps prevent damage if the water supply is interrupted.
EPDM, PTFE, and aluminium oxide sealing materials provide dependable protection against leaks and help reduce the risk of seals sticking after periods without use. The included flexible hoses also limit the transfer of vibration into surrounding pipework, helping reduce noise.
