Shower Pump Accessories

Use an anti-vibration mounting pad (like the Stuart Turner pad) or a Salamander noise-reducing pump mat (250 x 160mm) when you need to isolate the pump from the floor to cut structure-borne noise; the mat is best for small footprint pumps and tight cupboards. Flexible anti-vibration hoses (single or set from Stuart Turner) reduce transmitted vibration along the pipework and are essential if your pump is mounted on joists or a metal frame. For many installations you'll want both a mat or pad plus at least one anti-vibration hose to tackle noise at its source and along the pipework.

Fit the Salamander pressure vessel replacement kit (ACCPV1L) if your pump's pressure vessel has failed, lost its air charge or is corroded, symptoms include irregular pressure or frequent cycling. Use the Blue O-Ring service kit (114.5 x 3mm x 8) for sealing leaks at flanges and joints or when the pump is dripping but the vessel itself still holds pressure. A quick way to decide: visible seal damage or leaks -> O-ring; unstable pressure or noisy cycling -> pressure vessel replacement.

The compression top entry flange (1" x 22mm) gives a neat, secure top-entry connection between your 22mm pipework and a pump that accepts a 1" flange, which is common on many domestic booster pumps. It's the right choice when replacing an older top-entry pump or when your pipe run arrives above the pump rather than to the side. The flange reduces the need for extra adaptors and helps prevent leaks at the pump inlet.

A cold water storage protection unit (Salamander WSP) protects your cold supply and cistern from contamination and pressure anomalies when a booster pump is fitted, particularly in systems that boost from a storage tank rather than mains. It helps prevent backflow and can stop debris or dissolved gases reaching the tank, which is useful in older loft cisterns. The trade-off is added cost and space, but it's a sensible safeguard if you care about long-term water quality and pump reliability.

A non-return valve (NRV) prevents pumped water from flowing back into the source when the pump stops, preserving prime and stopping short-cycling; the Salamander NRV included in our range is a simple, inexpensive way to protect performance. A Homeboost fitting kit (CHBFIT01) supplies the correct fittings and adaptors you need to integrate a boost unit into your existing pipework, reducing leaks and installation errors. Together they make the system more reliable and cleaner to service, preventing pressure loss in a shower after the pump stops.
