Work from the floor area you want to heat: mats are sold by covered area, there are 1 m² and 2 m² mats at 150 W per square metre, and a ProGrid+ roll that covers about 15 m². Multiply area by the 150 W/m² rating to estimate the electrical output (a 2 m² mat gives roughly 300 W). Smaller rooms such as a cloakroom or ensuite often need a 1 m² or 2 m² mat, while an open-plan kitchen might use the larger roll. If you want a quick check: measure the usable heated floor area and match it to the nearest mat size rather than overbuying.

Choose by how you like to control the heating and which system you have: the Touch IQ range comes in dial variants (S, M, ST) and multiple trim finishes if you want the control to match your décor, a touchscreen V2 model offers a modern look, and the Digital Electric & Water V2 explicitly supports both electric and water systems. If you only have electric mats and prefer a simple, tactile control, a Touch IQ M or S dial is practical; if you want a sleek panel with programmable features, the Touchscreen V2 is a better fit. Match the thermostat capability to your system (electric only or electric and water) and to the wiring available in your room.

Insulation boards reduce floor-to-subfloor heat loss and improve response time; ProWarm offers boards such as 6 mm XP‑PRO and 10 mm options, typically supplied in 1,200 mm lengths. A 6 mm board is useful where you must keep floor build-up low, in a bathroom with tight door thresholds, while a 10 mm board gives better thermal efficiency when you can accept the extra height. For a conservatory or a ground-floor room with higher heat loss you'll generally gain better performance from the thicker board.
