How do I work out the right rectangular tray size for my shower space?

Measure the longest and shortest walls of the shower area and match them to common sizes in the range, many trays come in sizes such as 1200 x 800mm, 1400 x 800mm and 1700 x 700mm. If you have an odd alcove you can find narrow lengths (700–760mm) or long runs (up to 2000mm) so you rarely need to compromise. Allow a few millimetres for silicone joints and door clearance; a 1200 x 800mm tray is a standard fit for a typical family bathroom and will suit most 800mm wide glass panels.

Which tray profile height should I choose for a low-threshold or accessible shower?

Low-profile trays dominate the range and common finished heights are around 25–45mm, which give a near-level shower threshold ideal for minimal step-in access. If you need fully accessible or wet-room style access, look at the wet room profile options which sit very low and allow flush finishes with floor tiles. Raised and deep trays are useful if you must hide existing pipework or want extra depth for a traditional look.

What are the practical differences between acrylic-capped, stone resin and other materials?

Acrylic-capped ABS trays are lighter and tend to be more affordable, while acrylic-capped stone resin or stone resin give a solid, warm feel and greater rigidity. Stone resin holds heat better and resists scratches, so it suits a premium bathroom; acrylic is easier to handle during installation and replacement. There are also specialised options such as RAKSOLID and Ducostone for particular aesthetic or tactile preferences, so pick the material that balances budget, weight and the finish you want.

How do I match the waste position to my existing plumbing?

Check whether your existing waste is in the corner or centre before ordering, this range includes both types, with corner-waste trays and centre-waste trays. If your outlet sits in the corner, choose a corner-waste tray to make retrofit straightforward; if it's central, pick a centre-waste tray. many Podium and Hydrolux low-profile trays offer waste positions in the product details, so use those measurements to line up with your pipework.

Do I need a non-slip surface and how noticeable is the difference?

Most trays in the range include a non-slip option, and a textured or certified non-slip surface gives you much better grip underfoot, especially with children or elderly users. Stone-resin trays often come with a tactile finish that feels secure; manufacturers also offer "Safe" models such as the Mira Flight Safe range for extra reassurance. If safety is a priority, choose a non-slip finish even if it costs a little more, it makes daily use more comfortable and reduces slippage risk.
