This is ideal in homes where taking up the flooring isn’t an option. Podium rectangular shower trays are lighter than stone resin but superior when it comes to strength. How do I choose the right tray size for my shower enclosure?

Measure the longest and shortest sides of the space where your enclosure will sit, and match those to the tray dimensions offered, sizes here run from about 800 mm up to 1700 mm on the longest side, and 700–900 mm on the shortest. Allow a small clearance for the enclosure frame and any tiles or trims. if your enclosure footprint is roughly 1200 mm by 800 mm, the Podium 1200 x 800 mm tray is a direct fit.

Can I use a raised Podium tray if I can't take up the existing floor?

Yes. Podium raised trays have legs and panels fitted to the underside so the waste can be plumbed without digging up the floor, making them ideal where lifting the floor isn't an option. Most raised trays in the range provide this built-in access, so you can run the wastepipe beneath the tray above the existing substrate.

Which material is best for my bathroom: acrylic-capped ABS, stone resin or Ducostone?

Acrylic-capped ABS is the most common in the range and gives a strong, lightweight tray that's easier to handle for larger sizes, while acrylic-capped stone resin and Ducostone provide a heavier, more solid feel and a premium finish. Podium trays are described as lighter than stone resin yet highly strong, so if you want easier handling with excellent strength go for acrylic-capped ABS; choose stone resin or Ducostone if you prefer a denser, luxury feel.

How much height will a raised tray add, and will that affect my shower doors?

Most Podium raised trays are around 140 mm high (a couple are 135 mm) which creates the space needed for the underneath panels and waste plumbing; there is also a low-profile 40 mm option and a couple of deep-profile models. Before you buy, check your enclosure door thresholds and opening type, because a 140 mm tray will sit noticeably higher than a low-profile tray and can affect step-in height.

Yes, the range is non-slip and designed for regular daily use, and every Podium raised tray comes with a high-flow waste included so water drains quickly even with powerful or multi-head showers. The materials are chosen for strength and durability, so you get a secure, sturdy showering area that suits family bathrooms and frequent use.
