What Panels Do I Need For My Standard Bath?

We’ve broken down our selection into three different categories; White Bath Panel Packs, White Bath Panels – Sides and White Bath Panels – Ends so depending on your baths installation requirements we’ve got something to suit that’s easy to find too.

 

Standard Bath Panel Installation Types

Alcove Installation Example

If your bath is being fitted within an alcove like this then you will require just a side panel.

This type of installation is by far the neatest because it provides a more minimalistic layout by giving the illusion that the bath isn’t taking up any floor space. It’s also great for adding a little additional storage as you can see with the shelf at the opposite end to the taps.

Alternatively if your bath is being fitted within a corner then you will need a side and an end panel pack.

This is the most common type of bath installation because generally bathrooms are either square or rectangular and won’t feature an alcove.

Advantages To White Bathroom Detailing

White is a great choice for your bathroom. It looks clean and modern in any style of setting while perfectly complementing almost any other colour you see fit to decorate your suite in. White is also a really easy colour to clean due to any dirt showing up without the need to hunt for it and it makes your bathroom look and feel bigger.

 

How do I choose the right panel type and size for my bath?

First identify whether you need a side panel, an end panel or a side & end pack, side panels cover the long apron (commonly 1500mm–1800mm) while end panels are for the short widths (many included in our range at 700–800mm). Check your bath's nominal length (1700mm or 1800mm are common in our range) and height and match those dimensions to the product. If you have an L‑shaped or P‑shaped bath, look for panels labelled for those shapes or combined packs such as 1700/680mm or 1700/750mm so the side and end meet correctly. Buying a pre‑matched pack avoids trimming and ensures the style and finish align.

What's the practical difference between MDF, acrylic and Carronite panels?

MDF panels are cost‑effective, paintable and stable indoors but need good sealing at joints to resist moisture. Acrylic panels, like the Essentials and Sanctura white gloss options (Sanctura also offers 5mm acrylic), are more water‑resistant and give a smooth, easy‑clean glossy finish. Carronite is a higher‑end, tougher acrylic composite used by Carron for added rigidity and durability in busy bathrooms, but it comes at a premium. If your bathroom gets very wet or you want low maintenance, acrylic or Carronite is usually the better long‑term choice.

Are there bath panels with storage, and what can you realistically store in them?

Yes, there are dedicated storage bath panels such as the Ceramica White Storage Bath Panel 1700mm and the 1700/660mm bath panel set that hide a recess behind the panel. They're ideal for keeping spare toiletries, cleaning products or a few folded towels out of sight; they won't hold very deep items because storage depth is limited by the bath's apron. a 1700mm storage panel paired with a standard bath apron typically gives enough room for boxes of toiletries or bath toys but not large bulky items. If you want shelving for big items, look at the panel's stated storage design and internal dimensions before buying.

Will a white gloss finish show marks and how should I clean it?

White gloss panels such as those from Artis, Essentials and Sanctura give a bright, contemporary look but can show fingerprints and water spots more than a textured panel. Wipe them regularly with a soft cloth and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive cleaners or scourers which can dull the gloss. If you prefer a finish that hides marks, tongue‑and‑groove or wood‑effect panels are available and their texture disguises small scratches and smudges.

I have an L‑shaped or P‑shaped shower bath, which specific panels will fit?

Look for panels expressly included in our range for L‑shaped or P‑shaped baths: our range shows L‑shaped panels (Ceramica white gloss L‑shaped shower bath panels at 1500mm–1700mm and packs like 1700/680mm) and P‑shaped end panels (a 700mm P‑shaped acrylic end). Match the panel pair to the bath's long and short dimensions, many L‑shaped packs combine a long side (e.g. 1700mm) with a shorter end (e.g. 680mm). If your bath has unusual measurements, choose a pack closest to those dimensions or select individual side and end panels that you can trim to fit.
