Triton Mixer Showers

Triton are a leading UK manufacturer of showers and have been innovating in this space since 1975. They are consistently striving to improve on design and technology that’s come before, and their approach to mixer showers is no exception. Mixer showers don’t require an electrical connection and run solely off a hot and cold water connection. These two temperatures of water are mixed within the valve to deliver a shower at your desired temperature. It’s an age-old design, but Triton have improved upon it both through great contemporary design and the addition of thermostatic controls. Thermostatic controls allow you to set your desired temperature and the shower will then stay at that temperature. It’s the safest form of control as there’s no risk of scalding as the temperature won’t suddenly change. Below is a hefty choice of different styles, starting at Plumbworld’s always low prices.

Digital Shower: Requires hot and cold feeds. Uses a digital thermostat for precise temperature and flow control.

Smart Shower: Same requirements as a digital shower, but with smartphone and smart home control.

Power Shower: Requires hot and cold feeds and includes an integrated pump to boost water pressure.

Shower Tower: Requires hot and cold feeds into a single tower unit. Includes luxuries such as body jets.

Outlets

1 Outlet: One shower head that's either fixed or attached to an adjustable riser rail.

2 Outlets: Two shower heads, one wall or ceiling mounted and one handset, that can be used independently or sometimes simultaneously.

How do I know if a Triton mixer shower will work with my home's water system?

Mixer showers need both hot and cold feeds, so you must have a hot water source such as a combi boiler or a cylinder. Many Triton mixers are labelled HP / Combi for mains-pressure systems, while several are marked Suitable for All Systems if you have a gravity-fed loft tank and cylinder. If you have a combi boiler, choose an HP / Combi model; if you have a cold tank and cylinder, look for "Suitable for All Systems" to avoid performance issues.

What's the practical difference between a bar mixer and an exposed mixer for my bathroom?

A bar mixer is a horizontal valve that often includes a riser rail and can come as a dual-head bar offering rainfall and handset options, giving a neat, integrated look. An exposed mixer sits on the wall with its pipework visible and can be sequential or concentric for different control styles. For a modern enclosed cubicle the bar mixer with a handset and rainfall head gives flexibility; if you prefer a traditional look or simpler valve access, an exposed mixer can suit you.

Are thermostatic controls worth the extra cost?

Yes, thermostatic controls keep the water at the exact temperature you set and cut the risk of sudden scalding if the cold or hot supply fluctuates. Most Triton mixers on the page feature thermostats, and they are especially useful if you have children or vulnerable users. set the valve to 38°C and the shower will hold that temperature even if someone uses a tap elsewhere.

What does Cool Touch mean and when should you choose it?

Cool Touch valves are built so the exposed metal stays cool regardless of the water temperature, reducing burn risk when you touch the control. Several Triton models such as the Dene and Velino ranges offer Cool Touch, making them a sensible pick for family bathrooms or where elderly users are present. If safety is a priority, opting for Cool Touch trades a small extra cost for that added peace of mind.

How do the different outlet configurations affect how you'll use your shower?

One outlet gives you a single handset or fixed head for everyday washing; two outlets typically pair a ceiling or wall-mounted head with a handset so you can switch or use both; three outlets add extras like body jets or a bath filler for a spa-like experience. a dual-head thermostatic bar mixer lets you enjoy a rainfall head for relaxation and a handset for quick rinsing, while a three-outlet set-up is better if you want jets and a versatile bathing option.
