Our fantastic range of square shower trays are supplied in a huge array of sizes and as adjustable height, easy plumb or low profile trays. A low profile tray allows you to have the tray fitted flat to the floor with the waste pipes underneath the floorboards and an easy plumb tray gives you or your installer space underneath the tray to fit the waste, handy if you have a concrete floor or you're at ground level. These square shower trays are also finished in white so you'll have no problems matching it with your existing bathroom items.

What is the difference between low profile, easy plumb (raised) and deep shower trays, and which should you choose?

Low profile trays sit almost level with the floor, typically around 25–40mm high, and work well if you can route the waste underfloorboards so the tray sits flat. Easy plumb or raised trays give you a void under the tray for the waste and are useful on concrete floors or at ground level where beneath-floor access is limited. Deep trays provide greater fall and can help with faster drainage or when you need-level access at the shower door; they're often used where a walk-in arrangement requires more depth. If you want a near-level wet-room feel go for a low profile like many 800 x 800 options; if your drains can't be lowered, choose an easy plumb or raised tray.

How do I pick the right tray size for my shower enclosure or bathroom layout?

Measure the available floor space and the enclosure door swing, then match one of the common sizes: 700, 760, 800, 900, 1000 or 1200mm sides are widely stocked. For a standard square enclosure an 800 x 800mm or 900 x 900mm tray suits most showers, while a larger 1000 x 1000mm gives a roomier shower if space allows. Also check the waste position and whether the tray has upstands; some deep Mira trays come with four upstands which can affect how the enclosure sits against walls.

Which tray material should you choose: acrylic, acrylic-capped ABS or acrylic-capped stone resin?

Acrylic trays are lightweight and budget friendly but can feel less solid underfoot. Acrylic-capped ABS adds strength and impact resistance while keeping weight low. Acrylic-capped stone resin gives a very solid, premium feel, better heat retention and is ideal for larger or freestanding installations; many Mira Flight and Ideal Standard models use stone resin for durability and a luxury finish. If you want a firm, high-quality feel choose stone resin; for easier handling and lower cost pick acrylic or capped ABS.

Do I need a non-slip shower tray and which options are available?

Non-slip surfaces reduce the risk of slips, so they are wise if you have children, older family members or a busy household; about half the range here offers non-slip finishes. You can buy non-slip variants in the same sizes and profiles, Podium and Ideal Standard offer non-slip square trays in 700–900mm sizes. If safety is a priority, opt for a non-slip tray even if it costs a little more, as it improves grip without changing the tray footprint.

How does the waste position (centre or corner) affect installation and which should you pick?

Centre wastes are the most common and suit straightforward plumbing beneath the tray, while corner wastes can be helpful when your soil pipe or enclosure layout lines up to a wall corner. many 800 x 800 and 900 x 900 trays are offered with a centre waste, but there are corner-waste models where plumbing runs along the perimeter. Choose the waste position that aligns with your existing drainage route to minimise extra pipework and avoid re-routing underfloor drains.
