Bathrooms aren’t always the most spacious of places so getting the most out of the room you’ve got can be quite tricky. You need space efficient products and our Podium shower trays are just that. They can be trimmed and cut to shape to ensure a perfect fit around any awkward corners or edges, plus they’re considerably lighter than a stone resin tray without any loss of strength meaning you can get them fitted much more easily too. Our Podium shower trays are available in square, rectangular, quadrant and offset quadrant shapes for maximum flexibility, all of which are supplied in either a low profile or an easy plumb style. Low profile shower trays are great for those with access underneath the floor for the waste and easy plumb trays are for those without access, allowing you to easily fit your waste and plumbing under the tray. Both the low profile and easy plumb trays come with an anti-slip surface for maximum safety. All of our Podium trays come complete with a shower waste, all you need to do is match it with one of our stunning shower enclosures.

How do I decide between a low profile tray and an easy plumb or raised tray for my bathroom?

If you have access beneath the floor for the waste pipe, a low profile tray (typically 40–45mm high) gives a near‑level finish and is ideal for a minimalist look. If you cannot get under the floor, an easy plumb or raised tray (around 135–140mm high) hides the plumbing beneath the tray so you can fit the waste without floor access. Both styles come with an anti‑slip surface and include the waste, so your choice is mainly determined by whether you have underfloor access and the finished floor height you want.

My bathroom is small and awkwardly shaped, which Podium shape and size will save the most space?

For tight corners, choose a quadrant or offset quadrant shower tray so you make the most of corner space without a large projection into the room; common small sizes include 760 x 760mm and 800 x 800mm. A rectangular tray in a narrower width, 1700 x 700mm, works well along a short wall if you need a longer shower run but limited depth. These trays can also be trimmed to shape around awkward edges, helping you get a neat fit in compact layouts.

What difference do the materials make, is a lighter tray less durable than stone resin?

Podium trays are considerably lighter than traditional stone resin yet designed to retain strength; many are acrylic capped ABS which gives a lightweight, rigid tray that's easier to handle. If you want a heavier, premium feel you can choose Ducostone or acrylic capped stone resin variants, but expect greater weight and sometimes a need for a raised profile. For most bathrooms, an acrylic capped ABS tray offers a very good balance of durability and ease of fitting.

Most Podium trays are supplied with a shower waste and are designed to match standard enclosures in square, rectangular, quadrant and offset quadrant shapes, so you simply match shape and dimensions. if you buy a 1200 x 800mm rectangular tray, pair it with a 1200mm wide enclosure to ensure the curtain or door sits correctly on the tray rim. Check the tray height too: low profile trays sit almost flush with the floor, whereas raised trays need an enclosure that allows the higher threshold.
