Park Lane Traditional Bath Panels

Do you have a traditional bathroom or a bathroom you’d like to add a hint of tradition to? Then these Park Lane Traditional Bath Panels are an excellent way of bringing a traditional style to any bathroom design whilst also hiding unsightly pipework under your bath. The classic panelled wood design hints towards panelled wall décor from the Edwardian times, giving you a timeless feature that will never go out of style. The soft classic grey will contrast beautifully against white glossy sanitaryware whilst the warm ivory will add a hint of warmth and sit subtly against your bath.

How do I work out which panel sizes I need for my bath?

Measure the visible length of the bath side and the width of the end face where panels will sit; common options in this range are 1700mm side panels with 700mm or 750mm end panels. The products also list heights around 480–499mm, which match most standard bath apron heights. If your bath is 1700mm long and 700mm wide, the 1700/700 side and end pack gives a neat, matching finish and hides the apron gap.

What is the difference between the matt and gloss finishes, and which suits a traditional look?

Matt finishes, like the Winchester matt colours, give a soft, muted look that suits traditional panelled styles and hides light scuffs and fingerprints. Gloss finishes, such as the black or grey gloss options, are more reflective and create a sharper, slightly more modern contrast with white sanitaryware. For a classic Edwardian feel, choose a matt Oxford or Winchester shade; if you want a bolder statement against white fittings, pick a gloss panel.

Will these panels hide pipework and do I need a side and end pack for that?

Yes, the Park Lane traditional panels are designed to conceal pipework beneath the bath while delivering a panelled, classic look. A side-only panel covers the long apron; an end-only panel covers the short face; a side and end pack gives a complete surround for most standard baths, the 1700/700 packs included in our range. If your plumbing runs under an end panel as well, take a pack so both areas are concealed.

Are MDF bath panels durable in a bathroom and how should I maintain them?

These panels are made from MDF with painted or gloss finishes, which gives a stable, affordable panel that resists normal bathroom conditions when kept dry. Wipe them with a soft, damp cloth and mild cleaner and avoid prolonged water pooling at joints or the underside. If you have a shower over the bath, make sure splashes are contained and dry the panel edges occasionally to prolong the finish.

How do I pick a colour that will work with my existing tiles and fittings?

Use contrast and tones: the soft classic greys in the range sit beautifully against white glossy sanitaryware for a timeless look, while Winchester greens and blues add a gentle colour accent without overwhelming the room. Black gloss delivers a dramatic contrast if you have white sanitaryware and chrome fittings, and a warm ivory tone will bring subtle warmth to neutral tiles. pair Winchester matt green with oak-effect flooring for a cosy traditional bathroom; choose Oxford Grey if you want a quiet backdrop to patterned tiles.
