How do the Oxford, Winchester and Worcester ranges differ, and which one should you pick for your bathroom?

Oxford tends to be the most extensive range with many options in basin and bath mixers and pillar sets, so it's a safe choice if you want variety in finishes like chrome, black or brushed brass. Winchester has strong traditional cues and is ideal if you want classic pillar taps with cross-head handles for a period look. Worcester is the smallest range and includes practical options such as bath shower mixers and a freestanding bath shower mixer, so pick it if you need a dedicated bath-focused solution.

I love the traditional look, should I choose cross-head controls or mixers, and what effect will the finish have?

Cross-head controls give an authentic traditional feel and work well with pillar taps in chrome or brushed brass, while mono basin mixers offer modern convenience with single spouts and one-hole fittings. Chrome gives a high-shine, classic appearance; brushed brass adds warmth and hides fingerprints; black offers a bold contemporary contrast. pair Winchester cross-head basin pillar taps in chrome with a traditional basin, or choose an Oxford brushed brass mono mixer to add a modern-traditional blend.

Will these taps work with my water pressure?

The range includes models rated for low pressure, medium pressure (0.5–0.9 bar) and units suitable for all systems, so you can find a model to match your supply. Check the product's pressure suitability before buying: choose the low-pressure option for older gravity-fed systems or an "all systems" model if you might change your boiler later. A bath shower mixer intended for medium pressure will perform better with a combi or mains-fed system.

What's the practical difference between basin mixers, pillar taps and bath shower mixers, which is right for my set-up?

Basin mixers use a single spout and often require one hole, giving easy temperature control and a neat look for modern basins; basin pillar taps are two separate taps (hot and cold) and suit traditional basins with two-hole installations. Bath shower mixers combine bath filling and a shower outlet, useful if you want both functions from one fitting, while the freestanding bath shower mixer is for standalone baths where deck mounting is not possible. If you have a single-hole basin, choose a mono basin mixer; for a roll-top bath with no deck, consider the freestanding Worcester option.

How durable are Park Lane taps and what maintenance do they need?

They have solid brass bodies and long-life ceramic disc cartridges, so they resist corrosion and the internals outlast older rubber washers. Chrome and black finishes look great but may show watermarks, whereas brushed brass is better at concealing fingerprints and light wear. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners to keep the finish intact; if you have hard water, a quick weekly wipe will prevent mineral build-up on spouts and cross heads.
