Non Slip Quadrant Shower Trays

Quadrant shower trays are a brilliant choice for those who’re stuck for space in the bathroom but still want to have a shower enclosure. All of these trays are non-slip, and as the name suggests, you are far less likely to slip over on non slip shower trays than if you were to purchase a standard shower tray. Here at Plumbworld, we have a large range of shower trays in varying sizes. We also offer both low profile and raised shower trays, so whatever your preference is, we’ve got you covered.

What is the real difference between low profile, raised and wet room profile quadrant trays, and which should you pick for your bathroom?

Low profile trays (heights around 25–45 mm) give a near-level threshold for a sleek, accessible finish and suit modern ensuites or ground‑floor bathrooms where the waste can be recessed into the floor. Raised trays (around 140 mm) lift the waste and are useful if you need room for pipework beneath the tray or if floor construction prevents digging into the subfloor. A wet room profile tray provides a seamless transition into a fully tiled wet area when you want a flush look. If you need easy step-in access go low profile; if you cannot alter existing floor joists or need more space for plumbing go raised.

How do acrylic, acrylic capped ABS and acrylic capped stone resin trays compare in feel, durability and warmth?

Acrylic trays are lightweight and economical, with a smooth finish that is easy to keep clean, but they can feel less solid underfoot. Acrylic capped ABS strengthens acrylic with a reinforced backing so the tray is stiffer and less prone to flex. Acrylic capped stone resin, as found on the Mira Flight options, is the heaviest and most solid feeling, offers excellent heat retention and a premium finish that resists dents. If you want the warm, substantial feel similar to a tiled floor choose stone resin; for budget or easier handling choose acrylic or acrylic capped ABS.

What size quadrant tray should you choose, 800, 900 or 1000 mm, and how will that affect the enclosure?

An 800 x 800 mm tray is ideal for very compact bathrooms or en suites where every centimetre counts; 900 x 900 mm is the most common compromise between space and comfort. If you have room to spare or prefer more showering space, a 1000 x 1000 mm tray gives a noticeably larger showering area and suits family bathrooms. Match the tray size to the shower enclosure you plan to fit so the curved front of the quadrant aligns with the glass and leaves enough floor space outside the shower.

Does waste position matter and how do you choose between centre and corner waste?

Yes, waste position affects how the tray connects to existing plumbing and how your enclosure sits. Most trays here have a centre waste which aligns with a typical centrally located below‑floor soil pipe and works well with standard quadrant enclosures. A corner waste is useful when your soil pipe is near the wall or when you need the drain tucked away to suit a particular enclosure layout. Check where your current waste pipe sits before ordering so you avoid relocating plumbing.

Are non-slip quadrant trays hard to keep clean, and will the texture affect the look of my bathroom?

Non-slip trays have an integrated textured surface that gives you safer footing without looking obviously rough; the finish remains subtle and still suits a clean, contemporary bathroom. Maintenance is straightforward: use a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or brush to remove soap scum, and avoid harsh chemicals on stone resin surfaces to preserve the finish. With routine wiping you keep the non-slip texture effective and the tray looking fresh.
