The fantastic thing about these showers is that you can choose whether you'd like the valve exposed, or built in, and whether you'd like a riser rail with a handset or a wall mounted drencher head. Mira Minilite Showers feature the fantastic 'MagniFlo' techology, which gives up to 3 times more flow compared with similar mixer showers, even at low pressures!

Will a Mira Minilite mixer shower give good flow if my home has low water pressure?

Yes. Mira Minilite showers use MagniFlo technology, which delivers up to three times more flow compared with similar mixer showers even at low pressures, so you get a stronger, more satisfying spray. Because these are mixer showers they still need both hot and cold feeds, but MagniFlo helps maximise performance on weaker systems. If you have a very low-pressure gravity system, MagniFlo will improve flow but you should check your specific pressure rating with your plumber.

Do Mira Minilite showers need hot and cold water supplies or can they work on cold-only systems?

Mira Minilite mixers require both hot and cold feeds, because they mix the two supplies to give you the set temperature. They are not electric showers that heat water on demand from a cold feed, so they will not work on cold-only systems. If you have a combination boiler or mains hot and cold, these mixers are ideal.

What are the practical differences between the exposed and concealed Minilite mixers?

Exposed mixers, like the Mira Minilite EV Thermostatic Exposed Mixer Shower, sit on the wall surface and are easier to access for maintenance, while concealed mixers, such as the BIR or BIV Thermostatic Concealed options, hide the valve behind the wall for a cleaner, minimalist look. If you want a modern, sleek bathroom with visible controls only on the wall, a concealed unit with a rainfall drencher head is a great choice; if you prefer straightforward access and a slightly more traditional aesthetic, go exposed.

Should I choose a handset with a riser rail or a wall-mounted drencher (rainfall) head?

It depends on how you use your shower: a handset on a riser rail gives flexibility for rinsing and washing children or pets, and suits compact en-suites, while a wall-mounted drencher or rainfall head delivers a spa-like, immersive spray that feels luxurious in a larger shower area. the BIR Thermostatic Rainfall Head Concealed Mixer is ideal if you want a ceiling-style drencher experience and a minimalist look, whereas the riser rail is more practical for family bathrooms.

What safety and temperature control features do Mira Minilite mixers offer?

Mira Minilite mixers are thermostatic, so they maintain a stable shower temperature and cut power to the heating element if pressure or flow changes, reducing the risk of scalding. That makes them especially suitable for households with children or elderly users who need steady temperatures. The clear controls let you set a comfortable temperature quickly and reliably.
