What is a Steam Shower?

A steam shower is a shower enclosure that not only acts as a regular shower, but utilises steam to create a more luxurious experience. How does it do this? A steam shower features its own steam generator that releases a stream of steam into the shower enclosure, which is particularly well-sealed to protect against leaks and ensuring the steam keeps its maximum impact.

Steam showers make the most of top-end technology to give the experience they promise. Steam is released at the touch of a button, including digital controls that allow you to find the perfect temperature and humidity level.

How do I choose the right size and shape of steam shower for my bathroom?

Start by measuring the available floor space and the longest and shortest walls, the range includes quadrant and offset quadrant options from 700–1200mm on the short side and up to 1700mm on the long side, plus rectangular cabins for longer walls. If you have a small en-suite a 800–900mm quadrant is space‑saving and fits neatly into a corner; for a family bathroom a 1200 x 800mm offset quadrant or a 1400 x 900mm rectangular cabin gives more elbow room. Also note left- and right-hand configurations on offset models so the door swings suit your layout. Pick the shape that lets the door open comfortably and leaves clear access to other fixtures.

What's the difference between Premium, Platinum and Monochrome models, and which should I choose?

The ranges reflect styling and specification: Premium models sit at the more affordable end, Platinum models use higher-end finishes and often include extra options, and Monochrome focuses on a bold black/anthracite aesthetic. You can see this in pricing and finishes, Platinum quadrant cabins at a lower price point and Premium cabins at a lower price point, with frame choices in chrome, black, anthracite or white matte. If you want a more luxurious look and extra features, Platinum is a sensible choice; if you want the best value with core steam and jets, Premium will do the job. Monochrome is ideal if you want a contemporary, high-contrast bathroom palette.

How many body jets should I get and what seat type is best for me?

Most models offer either six or twelve body jets, 24 models come with six jets and seven with twelve, so six jets deliver a strong, targeted massage while twelve provides a fuller, spa‑style coverage if you want a stronger hydromassage. For seating you can choose none (maximises standing space), a rigid seat for comfortable long steam sessions, or a fold‑down seat to save floor area in compact cabins like the 1100 x 700mm offset. a 1200 x 800mm cabin with a rigid seat suits longer relaxation; an 800–900mm quadrant with a fold‑down seat is better for small en‑suites.

Are twin or two-person steam shower cabins worth the extra cost and space?

Twin and two-person cabins, commonly sized at 1400 x 900mm, give you genuine room to share the steam experience and often include larger trays and dual controls, but they need a larger bathroom and are pricier, many twin Platinum models are at a lower price point. If you regularly want to steam with a partner or want a striking focal point in a master bathroom, a twin cabin makes sense. If your space is limited or you rarely shower with someone else, a single-person 1200 x 800mm or 900mm quadrant will be more economical and space-efficient.

Which extra features make the biggest difference to the steam experience?

Steam itself is the core benefit, but mood lighting, Bluetooth speakers, multiple shower head patterns and body jets greatly shape the ambience and function; mood lighting and steam create a relaxing spa atmosphere, while Bluetooth lets you play calming music during a session. Shower head patterns are useful for daily rinsing versus longer steam treatments, and Bluetooth plus jets are common on higher-spec Platinum models.
