Will a fluted bath shower screen fit my bath?

You can use a fluted bath screen only on a straight, flat-rimmed bath, so first check that your bath rim is level and uninterrupted. Most of the screens in this range are 800mm wide, so measure the length of your bath rim where the screen will sit and make sure 800mm will cover the area you want protected. If your bath has a curved rim, corner bath or an irregular edge, these framed screens won't sit correctly. For a standard straight-sided bath, an 800mm framed screen is a common and practical choice.

How much privacy does fluted glass give compared with clear glass, and will it make the bathroom darker?

Fluted glass scatters light and obscures shapes, so it hides silhouettes far better than clear glass while still allowing daylight through. The vertical textured pattern maintains brightness, unlike frosted glass which can feel more opaque, so your shower space stays light but private. If you want a translucent look that doesn't darken a small bathroom, fluted 6mm glass is an excellent middle ground.

Is 6mm fluted glass strong and safe enough for a bath screen?

Yes, the screens use 6mm thermally toughened glass, which is stronger than ordinary glass and designed to break into small, less dangerous fragments if it shatters. The products are CE-marked, showing they meet European safety standards, and are supplied with aluminium wall channels for a secure fit. That combination gives you good durability without the extra weight and cost of thicker glass.

Which frame finish should I choose — chrome, black or brushed brass — and how will each affect the look?

Chrome gives a classic, reflective finish that ties in with traditional chrome taps and bright bathrooms; black creates a bold, contemporary statement that pairs well with matt tiles and monochrome schemes; brushed brass adds warmth and a vintage or boutique-hotel feel. All frames use aluminium wall channels, so their performance in the bathroom is the same, you're choosing style rather than functionality. if you have matte black taps, a black channel will create a cohesive, modern look.

How do I keep fluted glass looking clean and free of limescale?

Wipe the glass regularly with a squeegee or soft cloth after use to prevent water spots building up in the grooves. For limescale, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft brush or microfibre cloth to get into the fluted pattern; avoid harsh scouring pads that could scratch the glass or damage the aluminium channel. A quick weekly clean keeps the texture clear and maintains the attractive, privacy-enhancing effect.
