How do bath pillar taps differ from a mixer tap, and when might you choose pillar taps?

Pillar taps provide separate hot and cold outlets so you control each supply at its own tap, unlike a mixer which blends both before the spout. You'll pick pillar taps for a classic look or when your bath already has two tap holes; they suit traditional bathrooms and are easy to retrofit. Bear in mind you will not get a single, mixed temperature from one spout, so if you want exact temperature control while filling the bath a mixer might be more convenient.

How do I know which pressure suitability to choose for my system?

Look at the pressure rating: some pillar taps are marked low (0.1–0.4 bar), some medium (0.5–0.9 bar) and several are labelled suitable for all systems. If you have a gravity-fed hot water tank, choose low-pressure taps to get proper flow; if you have a combi boiler or mains-fed system, select medium or the "suitable for all systems" option to avoid weak flow. Which finish will work best, chrome, black or brushed brass?

Can I fit these taps as a direct replacement on my existing bath?

In many cases yes, the collection is described as suitable for retrofit or for new bathrooms and most designs are made to fit standard two-hole bath configurations.
