Installation Type

Exposed: Pipework, showerheads, and controls are on display.

Concealed: Pipework is hidden behind the wall for a minimalistic look.

Supply Type

High Pressure / Combi: These systems use a combination boiler which heats mains pressure water and sends it around your home.

Low Pressure / Gravity Fed: These systems usually use a cold water tank in the loft and a hot water cylinder in an airing cupboard.

Ceiling Fed: Ceiling fed showers use pipework that comes through your ceiling. They can be used with one or two shower heads.

Wall Fed: Wall fed showers use pipework that comes through the wall behind the shower. They can also be used with one or two shower heads and are easier to retrofit.

What is the real difference between the Midas 110 and the Midas 220, and which is right for you?

The Midas 220 is the slightly more premium update in the range with additional features and design refinements that make showering a bit more flexible, whereas the Midas 110 is the mid-range workhorse that gives excellent value. The MD220SC is a thermostatic dual‑head option priced around £449.95, while the MD110S thermostatic bar mixer is about £217, so the 220 is aimed at buyers who want extra functionality or a dual‑head setup. If you want a simple, reliable handset and good price-to-performance, the 110 is likely sufficient. Opt for the 220 if you want the extra features and are happy to spend a little more.

Will a Midas shower work with my combi boiler or a gravity-fed system?

Many Midas models are suitable for all systems, and some are specifically listed for high‑pressure/combi systems. The product filters show three items marked HP/combi and five marked suitable for all systems, so you can find a model that matches your supply. If you have a combi boiler, look for the HP/combi designation; if you have a gravity-fed system, choose one marked suitable for all systems. If you're unsure which label a specific model carries, the MD110 and MD220 ranges include both types so you can match your requirement.

What does thermostatic control and Cool Touch do, and are they worth it?

Thermostatic control keeps water temperature steady even if someone else uses water elsewhere in the house, giving precise and safer showering. Cool Touch valves, which are fitted to four of the range's items, keep the valve body cool to the touch, useful if you have children or vulnerable users. Together they reduce scald risk and make the shower feel more effortless to use. If safety and consistent temperature matter to you, these features are worth the modest premium.

Should you choose a single‑outlet handset or a twin/dual‑head configuration?

Single‑outlet handset kits are compact and efficient for everyday use, while twin‑outlet or dual‑head options give you a fixed rain head plus a handset for a more luxurious and flexible experience. The MD110SC and MD220SC are dual‑head thermostatic bar mixers if you want both rainfall and handheld duties. If you favour powerful, immersive showers and have sufficient water supply, a dual head adds luxury; for smaller bathrooms or tighter budgets, a handset-only set-up performs very well.

Are any Midas showers water‑saving or eco-friendly?

Most of the Midas items shown are not classed as Eco Shower models, six are listed as No for eco features, with only two marked Other, so built‑in eco modes and proximity sensors are not common in this selection. Expect a conventional flow profile unless a specific model lists eco functionality. If reducing water use is a priority, you may need to look at alternative ranges or check individual model specifications for flow rates and any eco options.
