1900mm Baths

If you've got a bit of extra room in your bathroom, a 1900mm bath is the perfect choice. It's longer than your standard bathtub, meaning you can actually stretch out properly without your knees poking out the water like awkward little islands. Perfect after a long day at work or a tough gym session - imagine sliding into a warm, roomy bath where you can genuinely unwind, relax your muscles, and soak up all those calming vibes.

But aside from the comfort factor, a 1900mm bath can also be a sleek statement piece for your bathroom. It’s got that luxury hotel vibe, instantly levelling up your space and making it feel just a touch more special. Whether you're tall and tired of cramped baths or simply want a bit of indulgence at home, upgrading to something a little bigger makes total sense. After all, life's too short to compromise on bath time, right?

Will a 1900 x 900mm bath fit in my bathroom and how much spare room do I need?

A 1900 x 900mm bath is noticeably longer than a standard tub, so you need a bit of extra floor space and clear access through the doorway. Measure the room length and width against the 1900mm x 900mm footprint and make sure you can move around the bath edge; if the bath sits in an alcove you'll also need a compatible side panel. For example, a bathroom that is at least 2.0–2.2 metres long will usually give you comfortable clearance at the ends and space for fittings.

Should you choose a freestanding or a straight 1900mm bath?

Choose freestanding if you want a strong design feature and a hotel-style look; the Atelier by Ideal Standard Dea is an example of a luxury freestanding 1900 x 900mm option. Pick a straight bath if you need a space-saving, traditional layout that can sit in an alcove and accept a side panel; the Sanctura Rockall and Portland straight baths come in 1900 x 900mm sizes and are more budget-friendly. If you're aiming for a dramatic centrepiece, go for a freestanding option and if you need fitting into an alcove or corner, straight is likely your best bet.

Do you need a side panel or a side and end panel for a 1900mm bath?

If your bath will sit in an alcove you need a side panel for the long side; if it's going into a corner you'll need a side and end panel set. Several 1900mm Sanctura models are offered with side panel or side & end panel options so you can match the panel choice to your layout. If you're planning a freestanding bath like the Dea, no panels are required.

What's the practical difference between single-ended and double-ended 1900mm baths?

Single-ended baths have a sloped back at one end, making them ideal if you normally bathe alone and want a defined recline; there are three single-ended 1900mm options listed. Double-ended baths are symmetrical, offering comfortable reclining at either end and a more balanced look, six double-ended 1900mm models are available. If you enjoy sharing the bath or want a centred tap position, a double-ended design is often the better choice.
