Look at the fan diameter and the flow-rate band to match the space, most stock items are 100 mm and commonly sit in the 20–30 L/s band, which is ideal for a toilet, small en-suite or cloakroom. Larger bathrooms, kitchens or rooms with powerful showers benefit from 150 mm models (about 10 included in our range) that frequently deliver much higher flow, often in the 61–70 L/s range. If you have a long duct run or need more power but limited wall space, some high-performance 100 mm models (the Airflow iCON 30) can give extra capacity. As a rule, use 100 mm for small rooms and 150 mm for larger wet rooms or kitchens, and check the exact L/s figure on the product page to be certain.

Which control type best prevents mould and lingering damp in a bathroom?

A humidistat combined with a timer is the most effective everyday option because the humidistat runs the fan automatically when moisture rises and the timer keeps it running for a set period after you leave. The range includes several humidistat & timer models, giving automatic, hands-free moisture control and less risk of forgetting to turn the fan off or on. Continuous-run fans are another strong choice if you want constant ventilation in a badly ventilated property. If you have mould problems, prioritise humidistat or continuous operation rather than a basic pull-cord model.
