Manual Towel Radiator Valves

Manual towel radiator valves are designed to allow you to adjust the temperature of your heated towel rails manually by simply twisting the heads on the valve. This in turn allows more of less hot water to circulate into the towel rail. Our range consists of a number of different styles, some of which are finished in a gorgeous polished chrome of designer anthracite. Manual heated towel rail valves are the budget option but don’t let that put you off, the heating in your home will still keep you toasty and warm! They’re also made from brilliant materials and are designed to last.

How do manual towel radiator valves work, and will they keep my towel rail warm enough?

Manual valves let you control how much hot water flows into the towel rail by twisting the valve head, so more flow equals more heat. They're a simple, reliable option used on heated towel rails and will keep towels warm and the rail toasty when set open. They don't offer automatic temperature control like a thermostatic valve, so you'll adjust them by hand as needed. For everyday use, a good-quality 15mm manual valve in chrome or anthracite will give long-lasting performance.

Which connection type, angled, straight or corner, should you buy for your towel radiator?

Match the valve to how your pipework arrives: choose angled if pipework comes up from below or from the wall into a bottom inlet; straight if pipes run along the wall to a side inlet or come up from the floor to a bottom inlet; choose corner for pipes coming from the wall into a side or bottom inlet with a tight turn. Most valves here are 15mm, so check that matches your pipe diameter before ordering. If you're unsure, note where the pipe sits relative to the rail and pick the connection type that mirrors that route.

Which finish and style will suit your bathroom, chrome, anthracite, black or white?

Pick polished chrome for a classic, reflective look that suits chrome radiators and taps; designer anthracite or black works well with modern matte radiators and darker tiles; white blends discreetly with lighter bathrooms. If your radiator has traditional bars, a cross-head or traditional valve will match the period look; for contemporary ladder rails, a cubic or standard modern valve complements the aesthetic. an anthracite angled valve pairs neatly with a black ladder rail to create a cohesive, modern scheme.

Are these manual valves compatible with all towel radiators and pipe sizes?

The included in our range valves are predominantly 15mm, so they fit most standard UK towel rails and 15mm copper or plastic pipework. If your radiator inlet or pipes are a different size you'll need an appropriate reducer or a differently sized valve. The valves are designed for heated towel rails specifically, so they'll work mechanically, but always confirm inlet size before you buy.

Will a manual valve let you control the bathroom temperature or just the towel rail?

A manual valve only controls the flow into the towel rail itself, so it's effective at regulating how warm your towels and that rail get. It won't act as a room thermostat or adjust central heating automatically, so it won't replace a radiator control or thermostatic radiator valve for whole-room temperature management. Use the manual valve to keep towels warm without running the entire heating system at a higher setting.
