Straight Towel Radiator Valves

If the pipework to your heated towel rails is coming directly out of the floor (as opposed to out of the wall at right angles to the towel rail) then these straight towel radiator valves are the ones that you need. They directly connect the vertical pipe to the vertical towel rail inlet without any bends to restrict the water flow. Choose from polished chrome, bold black or classic white finishes to ensure a perfect match with your other bathroom accessories. Heating your home has never been simpler.

How do I know if you need straight towel radiator valves or angled ones?

If your pipework comes straight up out of the floor and your towel rail inlet is vertical, you need straight valves because they connect a vertical pipe to a vertical inlet without any bends. Angled valves are for pipework exiting the wall at right angles. a heated towel rail with pipes rising from the floor behind it will work best with a 15mm straight valve.

What size should you order for standard towel rails?

Most of the straight valves included in our range are 15mm, so start by checking whether your supply pipe is 15mm. If it is, you can select from a wide range of finishes and control types in that size. If your pipe is a different diameter, look for alternative sizes or an adaptor before buying.

What's the practical difference between thermostatic and manual straight valves?

Thermostatic valves regulate the rail temperature automatically, helping you maintain a steady warmth and often saving energy, while manual valves give you simple on/off control and are cheaper. Thermostatic packs are offered in several finishes here, so they suit bathrooms where you want consistent heat without fiddling. If you have different heating needs at different times of day, thermostatic is the more convenient option.

Do you need a lockshield and why do some valves include one?

A lockshield lets you balance the flow through the radiator so each rail heats evenly; some valve packs include a lockshield and some don't. On this range five products include a lockshield and eight do not, so check the product details if your system requires one. in a bathroom with multiple radiators you'll often want a lockshield to fine-tune flow to the towel rail.

Which finish and style will suit your bathroom and how durable are they?

Finishes available include polished chrome, bold black, classic white, brushed brass, anthracite and grey, with modern and a couple of traditional styles like cross-head. Chrome and brass finishes give a timeless, corrosion-resistant surface; matte black and anthracite are powder-coated for a contemporary look but are best treated gently to avoid scratches. If your scheme is minimalist, go for black or anthracite; for a classic bathroom, polished chrome or brushed brass will blend in nicely.
