I bought these plinth heaters to replace the old one, it was at least 20 years old and the fan was getting pretty worn. New ones are really quiet, they're easy to fit and don't take up much space. Put them on long flexible tap connector as you'll have to pull them out to flush them out every few years.

It's out of sight under your unit, but blows the warm air forward through the smart brushed steel grill plate on the plinth.
It takes up no space in the kitchen but gives the heat you need.
