How do I choose the right cover width and height for my radiator?

Measure the visible width of your radiator and compare it to the cover widths offered, common options on the page include 780mm (small), 1120mm (medium), 1520mm (large) and extra-large 1720mm, plus extendable ranges such as 1390–2120mm. Check the cover height too; many covers are 815mm high while taller options are 940mm or 960mm for larger or high-mounted radiators. As a rule, pick a cover that is at least as wide as the radiator so it sits flush and the top clears any valves or pipework; for a hallway radiator, a 780mm cover usually fits, while a living room radiator often needs a 1520mm or 1720mm unit.

Will a radiator cover reduce the heat output in my room?

Most covers included in our range are designed for both form and function and include slatted or patterned fronts (horizontal, vertical, cross and diamond) to maintain proper airflow and keep heat moving into the room. Slatted designs let warm air rise and spread, so you'll lose little usable heat compared with a solid front. Which style and colour should I pick to suit my kitchen or bathroom?

For a crisp, modern kitchen or bathroom, white or dark grey with horizontal slats looks clean and contemporary; walnut or rattan works well in a farmhouse or natural scheme. If you want a decorative feature in a living room, choose a cross or diamond pattern to add interest without overpowering the space.

When is an adjustable radiator cover a better choice than a fixed size?

Choose an adjustable or extendable cover if your radiator spans an unusual width, you have a run of two radiators, or you plan to replace a radiator with a different size, the adjustable covers in our range extend to around 1390–2120mm or come as 2120mm adjustable models. Fixed sizes are fine when your radiator width matches a standard size like 780mm, 1120mm or 1520mm and are often the more economical option. a bay window with multiple radiators benefits from one long adjustable cover instead of several separate units.

Are there radiator covers that give extra storage or practical features?

Yes, some models include built-in drawers, such as the Vale Designs small cover with a drawer at 780mm, which is ideal for storing keys, gloves or mail in an entrance hall. The top surface of most covers also provides a handy shelf for decorative items or toiletries depending on room, so a cover can tidy pipes and add useful flat space.
