How do I work out the right size and heat output for my room?

Start by estimating the heat requirement for the room and then match a radiator whose BTU (Delta 50) sits at or above that figure; the collection lets you filter from small outputs (1–999) up to 10,000–25,000 BTU. Small bathrooms and cloakrooms often sit in the 1,000–1,999 BTU band, while medium living rooms commonly need 3,000–4,999 BTU. You can then narrow sizes from the list. The, compact radiators are offered in widths from about 300mm and heights from 600mm, while larger living-room models reach widths over 1400mm and heights up to 1800mm. If you're unsure, pick a slightly higher BTU to ensure comfort, particularly in rooms with large windows or poor insulation.

Should I choose a column, flat panel or oval-profile radiator for my room?

Column radiators give a traditional, tactile look and store heat well, making them great for period living rooms; Park Lane's Colosseum range is a clear example. Flat panels suit modern kitchens and minimalist bathrooms because they sit flush to the wall and present a clean black surface. DuraTherm offers several flat-panel vertical and horizontal styles. Oval or tube profiles give a decorative, contemporary appearance and often double as towel rails when vertical. Think about the aesthetic you want and how much projection you can afford, then match form to function.

When is a vertical radiator better than a horizontal one?

Choose a vertical radiator when you have narrow wall space but need significant output many vertical options are tall (common heights 1600mm or 1800mm) and deliver strong heat without taking up much width. Horizontal radiators work well under windows or along long walls and are available in wide sizes such as 1020–1440mm and beyond. For a small hallway or a kitchen where width is limited, a 1600–1800mm vertical DuraTherm model gives good heat while saving wall real estate. For bay-windowed living rooms, a horizontal double-panel will spread heat evenly under the sill.

How do single, double and triple panel configurations affect performance and space?

Single-panel radiators have the shallowest projection and suit smaller rooms where space close to the wall matters, but they give lower heat output. Double panels provide a balance of compact projection and higher output for medium rooms, and are the most common choice for living spaces. Triple and multi-panel options create the greatest heat output but project furthest from the wall, so they're best for larger rooms where you need maximum warmth. If you have a medium-sized kitchen, a double flat-panel gives warmth without sticking out too far; reserve triple panels for big, draughty spaces.

Can a black radiator work in a bathroom and dry towels at the same time?

Yes, our range includes heated towel rails alongside radiators, and many vertical tubular and oval designs are ideal for bathrooms because they combine heat output with rungs for drying towels. Look for vertical models around 600–1200mm high if you have a compact bathroom, or taller 1600–1800mm designs if you want more rungs and drying space. The black finish gives a modern, cohesive look with fixtures and provides good contrast against most tiles and wall colours. Pick a model with a suitable BTU for the room size so it both heats the space and keeps towels warm.
