Page 7 of 14 Bathroom Radiators

Return to page 1 of Bathroom Radiators

Bathroom radiators do more than just warm your towels - they add comfort and style to your bathroom, and with lots of different types available (just look at our range and you'll see what we mean), you can absolutely choose one that fits your space and needs best.

Ladder-style radiators are great for larger households, offering plenty of room for multiple towels, while flat-panel or more compact designs are ideal for smaller bathrooms or ensuites. You can even find designer radiators that double as a statement piece, adding a unique touch to your home (and who doesn't want that?). For flexibility, you can also choose between electric or central heating versions.

When it comes to colours and finishes, there's even more choice - white radiators are a classic option, of course, but what about chrome, black, or grey? Whatever you choose, a bathroom radiator will be the perfect way to make your bathroom tidier and beautiful and to make your daily routine easier, so what's not to love?

How do I decide between central heating, electric or dual fuel radiators for my bathroom?

If your home already has a hot‑water central heating system, a central heating towel radiator is the simplest option and will heat when your boiler is on; there are hundreds of central models here. If you don't have central heating or want heat all year, an electric rail (for example a 700 x 400mm 150W electric model) gives independence and is easy to run. Dual fuel combines both so you can use the central system in winter and the electric element in summer, a great choice if you want warm towels year‑round without running the boiler.

What size and heat output should I choose for my bathroom?

Start by matching radiator height and width to the wall space you have, common sizes on the range include 1200 x 500mm, 1600 x 600mm and compact options like 750 x 450mm, then check the heat output band that suits your room. Small ensuites will usually be happy with lower outputs (the 1–999 BTU band or small electric 150W rails), medium bathrooms typically need 1000–1999 BTU, and large family bathrooms are better served by 2000 BTU and above. If you’re unsure, pick a slightly larger model within the wall space available; a 1200 x 500mm flat panel is a popular mid‑size that balances towel room and heat.

Which radiator style gives the most towel space without overpowering the bathroom?

Ladder‑style or bar‑profile rails give the most usable horizontal bars for hanging multiple towels, so they suit larger households or busy family bathrooms. If space is tight, a flat‑panel or compact curved design offers a neater look and still warms towels without projecting too far into the room. A tall ladder rail 1600 x 600mm will hold several towels, whereas a 650 x 400mm flat panel keeps things tidy in an ensuite.

How do materials and finishes affect performance and durability?

Steel is the most common material here and is durable with many powder‑coated finishes available, while aluminium models heat up faster and are lighter. Stainless steel is more resistant to corrosion and has a high‑end finish, making it a good choice for wet bathrooms. Finishes like chrome, matt black, anthracite and brushed brass are offered across multiple sizes. Brushed brass, for instance, appears on several popular 750 x 450mm and 1200 x 500mm models, so you can match style without losing functionality.
