How do I work out the right heat output for the room I'm heating?

Use the heating calculator provided to estimate the BTUs you need, then match that to radiators in the BTU filter ranges shown here (from under 1,000 up to 10,000+ BTU). Remember panel configuration matters: single panels suit smaller rooms, doubles are ideal for medium rooms and triples or 6-panel models give the highest output for large living spaces. A medium living room often needs 2,000–3,500 BTU, so a double panel designer radiator in a 1,200–1,800 mm height is a sensible choice.

Should I fit a vertical or horizontal anthracite radiator?

Choose vertical when you have limited wall length but plenty of height, verticals are popular for hallways, kitchens and narrow alcoves and there are many tall options such as 1,600–1,800 mm heights. Go horizontal if you're installing under a window or want a lower focal point; many horizontals come in common heights of 600 mm with widths from 900–1,440 mm. A vertical 1,800 x 455 mm double flat panel works well where floor space is tight, while a 600 x 1,440 mm horizontal double panel suits a conventional living-room run.

Which panel profile should I choose: flat, oval or column?

Pick flat panels for a clean, modern look and efficient convective heating; they're the most numerous in the range. Oval or curved profiles soften contemporary spaces and add visual interest without huge extra depth. If you want a traditional character with an anthracite twist, column radiators (the Park Lane Colosseum range) give that period feel while still delivering strong heat output.

How does panel configuration affect radiator depth and where it will fit?

The configuration (single, double, triple or 6-panel) dictates projection from the wall: singles have the shallowest projection and are best where space is tight, doubles are a good compromise of size and output, while triples and 6-panel models project the most but produce the most heat. For a small kitchen you might choose a single panel 600 mm high and 300–450 mm wide to stay slim, whereas a large lounge would benefit from a double or triple panel 1,200–1,800 mm tall for greater output.

Is anthracite a practical finish for everyday use and how should I care for it?

Yes, the anthracite radiators here are made from high-quality materials and come with manufacturer guarantees, so they're built to last and resist everyday wear. The dark finish hides minor marks better than white, though dust can be more visible on darker surfaces, so a regular wipe with a soft, damp cloth keeps them looking smart. Avoid abrasive cleaners to preserve the finish and the warranty.
