Clears steam well, preventing build-up in bathroom. Not silent, but quiet. Downlight is very effective.
Pros: The larger 5" extractor was definitely the right way to go with my powershower. Anything smaller would have caused me to set the timer to run longer than the 5 minutes I currently have it set to. It's also quieter than the 4" extractors I have moun
Cons: Low voltage light isn't as bright as the 230v downlighters in the rest of the ensuite. It adequately lights the small cubicle so this isn't really an issue.
I have fitted this extractor in my ensuite shower cubicle where I have a mould problem. Already I can see the positive affect extracting the steam from the shower cubicle is having. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a steam problem.
Pros: Easy to fit , Good looking, Good value , Relaiable and long lasting
Cons: Back draught flaps noisy in strong winds. , Fan didn't clip into fixing bracket very securely. , Timer in the bowels of the fan electrical connection box which is awkward to access once the fan and vent pipe is fitted.
I have had a Greenwood extractor fan in one of my showers for over 15 years now and it is still going strong.
The new one seems the same in all respects other than the shower light and vent closing flaps which is an attractive addition. Easy to fit and adequate for the job. Better clips for the vent hose as an alternative to tie wraps would be an improvement, especially for the fixing nearest the fan connection which you may want to access a couple of times to adjust the timer.
The fan fixing bracked seemed a little "iffy" (it just clips on) and I used a couple of tie wraps to make sure the fan didn't com adrift from the bracket.
However, once set up everything is ok.
With the outlet fitted in the sofit, the back draught flaps on these units (old and new) can be a bit noisy on a windy day. Robust solonoid operated ones would be handy if anyone knows if they are available.
However, if this one lasts more than 15 years without any trouble / maintenance I will be more than happy.
Pros: Easy to fit, clear instructions
Cons: The "fitted" picture shows a crome surround - its a white one - either I missed something on the web site or this is abit confusing
Great service - received prompty - good followup from Plumbworld with a personal touch
Pros: Quality of the light and easy to fit. Fan is not too noisy.
Cons: Change the timing on the fan before fitting ( but really this was more our not reading the instructions fully)
We needed an extractor fan for our new downstairs toilet and decided to go with this fan with light. My husband says its brilliant, easy to fit, looks great and at a great price too. On the list to buy another one when we update our bathroom later this year.
Pros: Looks fantastic quality
Cons: None as yet.
Although I have not had this item installed yet and I cannot give a full review of my own, what I can say is that this extractor from Plumbworld was the best price that could be found after hours of searching.
The item itself is extremely well packaged and looks and feels amazing quality.
Can't wait for the install.
Pros: quite quiet, stylish
Cons: hard to swap LED for the halogen supplied, 5 inch pipe harder to find an extra length
Great fan not too noisy but fiddly to adjust timing. wanted to use an LED instead of the halogen supplied. very hard to find a way to do this. 5 inch diameter pipe needed an extension- found one at B&Q
Pros: Stylish. We bought white to blend with the ceiling.
Cons: Built in bulb not bright enough
This was a direct replacement to an old fan/light combination. Looks very stylish and a nice touch above the shower. We have replaced the bulb with an LED one, which makes it perfect. The built in bulb was dull and not bright enough.
