The samples are physical pieces finished in the same paints and coatings the manufacturers use, so they give you a very accurate sense of colour, sheen and texture. Because you can "see and feel the quality" in your own lighting, you'll notice differences that photos don't show, such as how glossy chrome reflects light or how anthracite absorbs it. View the sample next to your tiles and at different times of day to confirm the match.

Chrome and white are reliable for bathrooms because chrome ties in with taps and shower fittings, while white keeps the space bright and understated. Hold the sample next to the actual tiles, paint chips and metal fittings in the room and check it in both daylight and artificial light so you catch changes in tone and sheen. Pay attention to surface texture as well as colour; a glossy chrome sample will reflect differently to a matt white sample. If you're matching metalwork, view the sample beside the tap or handle to confirm the sheen and reflection are compatible.
