Which fuel type should you choose, central heating, electric or dual fuel?

If your home already has a hot-water central heating system, a central-heating towel radiator is the simplest fit and will heat when the boiler is on. If you want warm towels all year round, go for electric or dual-fuel: the 50 electric models plug into the mains and run independently, while the 32 dual-fuel radiators give you the best of both worlds by using the central system when available and electricity when it isn't. a dual-fuel radiator lets you dry towels on summer evenings without firing the whole central heating system.

What size radiator will warm my bathroom and towels effectively?

Match the radiator's heat output to the room size using the BTU bands in our range, small cloakrooms often need under 1,000 BTU, typical family bathrooms sit in the 1,000–1,999 BTU bracket, and larger bathrooms may need 2,000–2,999 BTU or more. Physically, popular compact options include widths of 500–600 mm and heights around 750–1200 mm; for a small bathroom a 750 x 450 mm radiator is common, while a 1200 x 600 mm model gives noticeably more heat for a larger bathroom. Use the BTU figure shown for each model to confirm it meets your room's requirement.

Which profile or shape is best for hanging towels and saving space?

Bar or ladder profiles give more defined rails for hanging multiple towels, so they're very practical if you dry several towels at once. Flat-panel radiators deliver a minimalist, sculptural look and take up less visual space, while curved profiles add extra clearance between the rail and the towel so towels hang more freely. For a narrow cloakroom choose a vertical flat or bar radiator in a 450–500 mm width to save floor wall space.

What materials and finishes withstand a humid bathroom environment best?

Stainless steel is the most corrosion-resistant option, though there are fewer stainless models available; aluminium heats quickly and is lightweight; most of the range is steel, often with powder-coated finishes like anthracite or matt black that give good surface protection. Powder-coated mild steel in anthracite or matt black is a popular, durable choice for everyday bathrooms and gives a modern look, while chrome gives a classic shiny finish. If you're in a coastal or very humid location, favour stainless steel or a robust powder-coated finish to reduce the risk of corrosion.

I want a modern look, which finishes and styles give the cleanest contemporary feel?

For minimalist contemporary bathrooms pick flat-panel or square profiles in matt black, anthracite or brushed metallic finishes; these deliver clean lines and sculptural presence. If you prefer a slightly softer modern look, curved rails in chrome or matt black combine form and function, as you still get plenty of towel hanging space. an anthracite flat-panel radiator looks very sleek beside a frameless shower and works well with neutral tiles.
