High Heat Output From a Type 22 Radiator

This Type 22 radiator has two heating panels and two convectors. Each convector is attached to one of the panels, increasing the overall surface area available to warm the surrounding air.

If you’re comparing double panel radiators – Type 22 (two internal convectors), this arrangement is designed to provide more heat than slimmer Type 11 or Type 21 alternatives of comparable dimensions. It can be particularly useful for heating larger rooms or spaces with a greater calculated heat requirement.

Two Panels and Two Internal Convectors

The two panels heat the room through radiation, while the internal convectors help move warm air upwards and into the space. Using both methods allows the radiator to distribute heat effectively whenever the central heating is running.

The additional panel and convector increase the radiator’s projection from the wall, so it’s important to check the full technical dimensions as well as the height and width before ordering.

Pre-Fitted Grille and Side Panels

The factory-fitted top grille and side panels conceal the internal convectors and give the radiator a cleaner appearance. They create a finished outer casing without preventing warm air from rising through the grille.

This makes the K Rad Kompact suitable for rooms where the radiator will remain clearly visible rather than being hidden behind furniture.

Wall Mounting Components Included

Heavy-duty L-shaped brackets are supplied for mounting the radiator. These attach directly to a suitable wall, allowing the holders on the rear of the radiator to sit securely on the brackets.

The package also includes an air vent, blanking plugs, screws, and screw caps, providing the main fittings required for installation. Your installer should check that the wall construction and chosen fixings can safely support the filled radiator.

Standard UK Connections

The radiator has standard G½-inch connection threads, making it suitable for use with compatible UK central heating pipework. Check the intended pipe positions and select the appropriate valves before installation.

BS EN 442 Compliance

This model conforms to BS EN 442, the recognised European standard covering radiators and their declared heat output. This allows you to compare its tested performance with other panel radiators when calculating the heating required for your room.

10-Year Warranty

The K Rad Kompact radiator comes with a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
