Which boiling water tap type should you pick — boiling-only, 2-in-1, 3-in-1 or 4-in-1?

Think about the water functions you use most. If you only want instant boiling water and maximum simplicity, a boiling-only model will do. Will a boiling water tap really save you energy and worktop space compared with a kettle?

Yes — the taps use an under-sink tank that keeps a small volume of water hot at low running cost, so you avoid repeatedly boiling a full kettle. You also reclaim worktop space because you don't need a separate kettle. Bear in mind there's a higher upfront cost than a kettle, but if you make hot drinks or cook with boiling water frequently the ongoing running cost is usually lower.
