Return to page 1 of Black Kitchen Taps

There would have been a time where black would not be a colour of choice for kitchen taps, leaving just chrome or gold as your only coloured kitchen taps option. Thankfully tastes and designs have moved on and we’re happy to announce our gorgeous range of black taps. A number of different shades are available for you to choose, from jet black to anthracite and even a mixture of black and chrome, so getting just the right look in your kitchen is so much easier than it used to be! The collection also features pull out spray taps to help with rinsing down vegetables and plates, plus, some hot and cold mixer taps to produce boiling hot water on demand. All of our black kitchen taps are made to an extremely high standard and come complete with manufacturer warranties across the board.

How do I decide between a pull-out, swivel or fixed spout for a black kitchen tap?

Think about how you use the sink: pull-out taps (about 17 options here) are ideal if you regularly rinse veg or wash large pans because the spray head reaches into corners, while a swivel spout (around 31 options) gives wide coverage for double bowls. Fixed spouts (c.17) look cleaner and suit a minimalist sink where you don't need extra reach. For example, a Sauber Astano pull-out will make rinsing salad leaves easier, whereas a swan-neck tap like the Sauber Astano Swan Neck gives more room under the spout for tall pots.

Will a black finish show scratches and water spots easily, and how long will it last?

Black taps in this range are supplied in several finishes — matt black, black velvet, ash black, gunmetal and mixed black/chrome — and they're described as made to a high standard with manufacturer warranties. Matt and velvet finishes tend to conceal fine wear better than glossy black, while mixed finishes (for example a brushed nickel and black model) can hide fingerprints at the rim. Treat them like any quality tap with regular gentle cleaning and the finish will retain its look for years.

Can I get a black boiling-water tap and what equipment does it need?

Yes — there are around 15 boiling-water or 3-in-1 options in black, including models with dedicated tanks such as the Sauber Astano 3-in-1 with black tank, InSinkErator with NeoTank, and Rangemaster 4-in-1. These taps need a small insulated tank or dispenser unit to sit under the sink, which is why they are typically higher priced than a standard mixer. If you want instant hot water for tea and cooking, a black 3-in-1 like the Sauber or InSinkErator gives the look you want while delivering the function.

Which tap control is best for my kitchen — single lever, twin lever or sensor?

Single lever taps (37 options) are the most practical for everyday use, letting you adjust flow and temperature with one hand; they work well in modern kitchens. Twin lever taps (26 options) give a traditional aesthetic and precise hot/cold control, as seen in the Park Lane Burford range. Sensor taps (a few models such as the Clearwater Azia) are best if you want hands-free operation for hygiene, for example when handling raw food.
