How do I decide between a fireclay and a ceramic RAK sink?

Fireclay is the most common choice here and is fired at high temperatures to give exceptional hardness, so it resists scratches and chipping very well and suits heavy daily use like washing cast-iron pans. Ceramic models still offer a crisp look and are durable, but fireclay is generally tougher for long-term wear. If you want a hard-wearing, traditional Belfast look choose fireclay; if you want a slightly lighter option and a lower price point, a ceramic sink can work well.

Which bowl configuration should I buy, 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2 bowls?

A single bowl gives you a large uninterrupted space for big pans and veg prep, and many Belfast styles favour this layout. A 1.5 bowl gives you a main bowl plus a smaller half-bowl for rinsing or draining without taking much counter space, ideal for busy cooks; the 0.5 bowl is essentially a rinse bowl for very compact kitchens or utility areas. Two bowls are best if you want to keep washing and soaking separate. Think about how you work: if you regularly wash large pots, go single or deep; if you need sorting space, pick 1.5 or two bowls.

Should I choose a sink with a drainer, and which side is best?

Ten models in the range have no drainer, which keeps a clean, minimalist look if you use a separate draining board or prefer a free workspace. If you want an integrated drainer you'll find left/right options and a few right-only models; match the drainer side to where you normally place washed items relative to your hob and worktop. if your prep area is on the right, a right-hand drainer lets you move pans straight across.

What size and depth should I pick for my kitchen tasks?

The range covers compact lengths (200–299mm) up to large sinks (800–899mm and many between 1000–1099mm), so measure how much continuous countertop you can spare and how large the bowls need to be. Most sinks have bowl depths around 200–299mm, which suits everyday pots; a few deeper options (400–499mm) are available if you regularly wash very large cookware. If you want a generous double or Belfast-style sink for a busy family kitchen, aim for the wider 1000mm-plus options.

How do the colours and finishes affect style and upkeep?

The collection offers classic crisp white ceramic that's marketed as scratch- and chip-proof for a traditional farmhouse look, alongside matt finishes in black, grey, greige, cappuccino and beige for a modern or tonal scheme. Matt colours hide small marks and create a contemporary feel, while white is timeless and brightens a room but may show stains more easily. Pick white Belfast for a country kitchen or a matt black/grey undermount to give a sleek contrast against engineered stone.
