How do I decide between a lower spout (210) and a higher spout (270) on pull out kitchen taps?

A 270 spout gives a higher arc and more room under the tap, which is useful if you regularly wash large pans or have a Belfast sink; hansgrohe, offers both 210 and 270 options. A 210 spout sits lower and reduces splash under low-hanging cabinets, so it suits shallow sinks or tight spaces. Think about the tallest pots you use and any cupboards above the sink when choosing.

What practical differences will I notice between single lever, twin lever, touch and sensor controls?

Single lever taps (most common in our range) let you change flow and temperature quickly with one hand, ideal when you're juggling food. Twin lever taps give a traditional look and separate flow control for hot and cold, which some people prefer for precise balancing. Touch and sensor models are more hygienic and convenient when your hands are messy, but they're fewer on offer and usually cost more.

Will a pull out tap really help with food prep and cleaning, or is it just a design feature?

Yes, the pull out nozzle directs spray exactly where you need it, making rinsing vegetables, filling pans and cleaning awkward corners much easier than a fixed spout. Many models also have dual spray modes so you can switch from a gentle flow to a stronger rinse for stubborn grime. Sauber and other ranges list dual-spray or flexible pull out options that speed up everyday kitchen tasks.

Which finish should I choose to suit a busy family kitchen and still look good over time?

Chrome is the most common and is easy to clean, while brushed finishes (brushed brass, brushed steel or stainless steel) hide fingerprints and watermarks well and suit high-use kitchens. Matt black looks very modern but can show limescale more readily, so it needs a little more maintenance. Match the finish to your existing appliances and the level of daily cleaning you're willing to do.

Can a pull out tap also give boiling water, or do I need a separate tap for that?

You can have both in one: there are 3-in-1 pull out boiling water taps with an integrated tank, such as the Sauber Flex 3-in-1 models shown. These combine instant boiling water with the normal pull out spray functionality, though they sit in a higher price bracket and require space for the tank under the sink. If you want hot drinks and flexible rinsing from a single fitting, a 3-in-1 is a practical choice.
