What is the difference between single, double, compact and built-under ovens, and which one will suit my kitchen layout?

Single ovens are the most common choice and fit a standard 600mm housing, good if you cook normally and want a simple, tidy look. Double ovens give two separate cavities so you can roast and bake at different temperatures at once, handy for families or entertaining. Compact and combination microwave ovens are smaller and perfect when space is tight or you want a second oven for quick tasks; several compact models combine oven and microwave in one unit. Built-under ovens sit beneath the worktop and are ideal if you want the oven out of sight, while built-in models sit at eye level for easier access; finishes include stainless steel, black and black glass so you can match your kitchen style.

Are pyrolytic ovens worth the extra cost compared with steam or catalytic cleaning systems?

Pyrolytic cleaning heats the oven to very high temperatures and turns food residue to ash, which you then wipe away, and there are many pyrolytic options in the range so you'll find different price points. It's the most thorough method for burnt-on spills, but it uses more energy and takes a few hours per cycle. Steam or hydrolytic systems use water and lower temperatures to soften residue quickly, they're gentler and quicker but won't tackle heavy carbonised mess as effectively. Catalytic liners absorb grease on the oven walls and help keep basics under control, so they're a low-effort option if you don't want full pyrolysis.

Do I need a special electrical supply for these ovens?

Most ovens here are electric, but their electrical demands vary; many models list 13A or 16A fuse ratings, while some larger or double ovens require higher ratings such as 30A or 32A. A compact or single fan oven will often run on a 13A or 16A circuit, but double ovens and certain pyrolytic models commonly need a dedicated higher-amp supply. Check the specific model's fuse rating before you buy and arrange an electrician if a dedicated circuit is required.

What oven capacity should I buy for my household?

Capacities in the range include small 40–48 litre ovens, common family sizes around 60–76 litres, and many models at about 71 litres, 71L is particularly common in this collection. If you roast for a family of four or more and want to cook a large joint and multiple trays, aim for 70L plus or a double oven. For one or two people, or if you already have a separate microwave or compact oven, a 40–48L or a compact model will save space without limiting everyday cooking.

Which cooking functions matter most: fan cooking, added steam or combination microwave?

Fan cooking is the dominant function here and gives even heat distribution, so it's versatile for multi-shelf baking and consistent results. If you bake artisan bread or want crisp pastry and moist interiors, look for models with added steam or compact steam features. Combination microwave ovens let you brown and steam with convection then use microwave power for fast reheating, so they're ideal if you want one appliance that handles both everyday reheats and proper oven cooking.
