Are these marble tiles suitable for both bathroom walls and floors, and can I use them with underfloor heating?

Yes. The marble and marble-effect tiles in this range are porcelain and are specified as suitable for both walls and floors, and all are compatible with underfloor heating so you'll get a warm underfoot sensation on tiled floors. Porcelain's low porosity also makes it a good choice in wet rooms and around showers. If you are tiling a shower floor, bear in mind finish and slip properties when choosing a polished or gloss tile.

How do I decide between the large 600 x 1200mm tiles and the smaller 300 x 600mm tiles?

Think about the size of the room and the look you want: a 600 x 1200mm tile (Amiata Kallone) creates a seamless, contemporary feel with far fewer grout lines, ideal for large open-plan bathrooms or kitchen floors; a 300 x 600mm tile (Amiata Valencia) suits smaller bathrooms or walls where smaller-format tiles proportion better to the space. Large formats can show more of the veining pattern, which works well if you want a dramatic, continuous marble look, while smaller tiles give a more traditional tiled appearance and can be easier to handle in tight areas.

What's the practical difference between gloss and polished finishes for marble porcelain tiles?

Both gloss and polished finishes emphasise the tile's marble veining and give a reflective, elegant surface, but a polished or very glossy floor can be more slippery when wet than a textured finish. Polished walls look luxurious and are easy to wipe clean, while for wet floors you might prefer an option with higher slip resistance or add mats where necessary. Gloss finishes also show smears and watermarks more readily, so expect a little more frequent wiping in busy kitchens or family bathrooms.

Are these porcelain marble tiles the same as real marble, and what are the pros and cons?

These are porcelain tiles with a marble appearance rather than quarried natural marble. Porcelain gives you the look of marble with greater durability, lower porosity and simpler maintenance,no regular sealing required, making it a practical choice for floors and splashbacks in kitchens and bathrooms. Natural marble has a unique, organic variation and can be more valuable, but it is softer, more porous and needs careful upkeep; porcelain is generally better for heavy-use areas.

How many tiles will I need per square metre for these two sizes, and can you give a quick example?

A 600 x 1200mm tile covers 0.72m², so you need about 1.39 tiles per square metre (round up when ordering). A 300 x 600mm tile covers 0.18m², so you need about 5.56 tiles per square metre (again round up). a 6m² bathroom floor would typically need around nine of the 600 x 1200mm tiles or about 34 of the 300 x 600mm tiles, plus an allowance for cuts and wastage.
